The metaverse-based video games continue to be popular.
Skateboards will be available for purchase in Hawk’s metaverse marketplace.
There’s no word yet on when the skate metaverse will go live.
However, despite a perilous decline in the digital currency market, games based on the metaverse continue to attract the attention of those who dream of experiencing an entirely unique and entertaining virtual world without the constraints of our current reality.
On July 13, Tony Hawk, one of the world’s most recognizable and famous skateboarders, announced his partnership with the blockchain-based virtual world The Sandbox to build the world’s largest virtual skatepark. The Sandbox has a long list of high-level affiliations, and this is the most recent addition to that list.
To paraphrase what The Sandbox and Hawk said in a video they both released, Hawk’s metaverse won’t simply feature a commercial center where people can buy things like skateboards and skate accessories; it will also provide them access to technologies that let them build the skatepark of their dreams.
The Largest Virtual Skatepark In The Sandbox
According to The Sandbox, the “Tony Hawk LAND” will have 36 plots of land, making it the world’s largest skatepark at any time in the metaverse.
Onstage, Tony Hawk said that the skatepark will be unlike anything else he’d seen before. When you consider that the “Tony Hawk Pro Skater” video game franchise he created has made over $1.4 billion in sales, these are significant comments.
No one, not even Tony Hawk or The Sandbox, has a clue as to when the skate metaverse will come to an end.
Signature Will Be Designing Hawk’s NFTs
When it comes to Tony Hawk memorabilia, Signature will produce NFTs and symbols inspired by the legendary skateboarder’s most iconic items like the 1999 X Games skateboard on which the legendary 900 (2.5 lap) turn was executed, which was regarded a godlike performance in the skating community.
For Dillon Rosenblatt, Autograph’s CEO and key sponsor, working with The Sandbox and Tony Hawk to create fresh, vivid interactions outside of the metaverse was a top priority.
The Sandbox’s COO, Sebastien Borget, noted that his company shares Hawk’s enthusiasm for progress and innovation.
With that, Tony Hawk joins over 300 successful experts, corporations, and organizations that are betting on the metaverse to take their famous brands to a new level.
