Apple has published a new version for Safari Technology Preview, the experimental browser introduced by Apple in March 2016. Apple created the Safari Technology Preview to test features that may be included in future Safari release versions.
Bug fixes and performance improvements are included in Safari Technology Preview version 138 for Web Inspector, CSS, Experimental Model Element, Media, Web Animation, WebAuthn, SVG, Web API, Service Workers, WebRTC, WebAssembly, and Web Extensions.
The latest Safari Technology Preview release is based on the Safari 15.4 update and incorporates Safari 15 capabilities that were included in macOS Monterey.
Anyone who has downloaded the browser can get the Safari Technology Preview update via the Software Update mechanism in System Preferences. The Safari Technology Preview page has the full release notes for the upgrade.
The goal of Safari Technology Preview is for Apple to collect feedback from developers and users on its browser development process. Safari Technology Preview may coexist with the standard Safari browser, and while it is intended for developers, it does not require a developer account to download.
