History of Red Lobster
An American chain of casual dining restaurants with its corporate office in Orlando, Florida is known as Red Lobster Hospitality LLC. As of June 23, 2020, the company had 719 sites globally. It has operations throughout the majority of the United States and Canada as well as in China, Ecuador, Guam, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates. On July 28, 2014, Red Lobster was bought by Golden Gate Capital from Darden Restaurants, becoming the parent company of that business. For an estimated $575 million, seafood distributor Thai Union purchased a 25% stake in the business in 2016, and from GGC it acquired the remaining 75% in 2020.
On August 6, 2014, Red Lobster declared that their new corporate headquarters would be located in Orlando’s CNL Center City Commons. Red Lobster formally inaugurated the Restaurant Support Center on March 6, 2015.
