Bayonetta 3 will finally be released in October after an eight-year wait..

Bayonetta 3 finally has a release date after years of speculation: October 28, 2022. Since the release of Bayonetta 2 in 2014, fans have been anxiously expecting a sequel. After months of speculation, the release date of Platinum’s planned Switch sequel has finally been revealed in a new video.

It was only a few hours ago when Nintendo’s Bayonetta 3 – Release Date Revealed teaser debuted on the video sharing website (July 13). There are three and a half minutes of gameplay as well as some cutscenes in this video. Bayonetta’s new butterfly form and witch Viola are two additional highlights in the teaser, but the release date is the most important.

Press releases from Nintendo also included clerical details regarding purchasing the game. There will be a physical and digital standard edition of Bayonetta 3. A 200-page art book and three different reversible game boxes are included in the Trinity Masquerade Edition that can be purchased at the My Nintendo Store. However, Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 are not included in the Trinity Masquerade Edition.

We also learn a little more about Viola, the sword-wielding character we glimpsed in the film’s teaser.

As well as playing as Bayonetta, gamers will also get the opportunity to play as Viola, a fiery witch-in-training who is ready to unleash hell on the Homunculi with her sword and her capricious companion, the feline demon Cheshire.

So far, Bayonetta 3 seems to be a fast-paced, stylish action game with an emphasis on unbroken combos and spectacular set pieces similar to the past two titles. Aside from riding a spider and shooting from a speeding train, the teaser showed us that Bayonetta could also change forms and become a demonic butterfly. Perhaps there will be more oddities to come in the entire game.

The release of the game comes at a good moment, since there has been a lack of new releases in the 2022 calendar so far. There haven’t been many noteworthy big-budget games this year except from Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West. Since Metroid Dread last year, the Switch hasn’t gotten a huge unique action game like Bayonetta 3.
