Wordle #250 is here. And the answer is…
Is Wordle your thing? This is a common experience. Playing this easy yet addicting word game and then sharing their findings with friends through social media is something that millions of people do every day.
However, not everyone is able to play every day. A 10-minute game could not be enough time for you, or you might be offline for 24 hours or longer. Or, you may have simply forgotten.
Only via the Wordle Archive, which lets you play past puzzles in the order they were first published, can you return a day you missed.
What if you’ve missed a game and only want to check today’s Wordle answer? We’re here to assist, so don’t worry. Because we at Tom’s Guide are devoted Wordle junkies, we’ll be adding the right solution to this post on a daily basis.
However, if you don’t want to be spoiled for game #250, don’t read any further. Also, don’t sneak a look ahead of time to give yourself an unfair advantage over your buddies; that’s just plain unethical.
Today’s Wordle answer #250, Thursday, February 24
So, what is today’s Wordle answer for game #250?
Prepare for confusion, because it’s… BLOKE.
No, I wasn’t expecting this one either. Full disclosure: I’m British, and got this in 4/6 — but I suspect a few non-Brits might find it a bit more tricky.
According to Word and Phrase Info, it’s down in 25,744th place, making it a lot less common than TROVE, THORN and OTHER, the previous three Wordle answers. But while it’s not as obscure as some other recent Wordles — yes, I’m looking at you CAULK — it is mainly a British slang word.
That’s confirmed by Merriam-Webster, which defines BLOKE as:
Chiefly British, informal
- MAN, FELLOW
Considering Wordle’s overall bias towards American English, this is an odd inclusion. Just ask U.K. players about the spelling of HUMOR a few weeks ago for evidence. To be honest, I was so certain that wouldn’t be the correct answer that even after thinking of it straight away on the third try, I still didn’t predict it.
Then then, owing to British television and movies, it’s probably very well-known around the world. On Twitter, at least, there hasn’t been a lot of indignation over it yet, but that might change later in the day.
This Wordle is easy to complete, if only because there aren’t many more alternatives once the first few letters have been put in position. For these reasons and the fact that BLOKE isn’t one of the better Wordle start words and that the letters B and K aren’t very popular in Wordle replies, I doubt there will be many 1/6 or 2/6 outcomes here.
This one pleases me, and I’ll check in with my colleagues in the US later today to see how they performed. Isn’t BLOKE such a wonderful word?

What else should I know about Wordle?
Since its October 2021 introduction, Wordle has been gaining traction, but it wasn’t until the end of 2021 that it really took off. As a result, the New York Times purchased Wordle in early February for a seven-figure amount and the game is now a part of the NYT Games portfolio.
Using the NYT Games page here, you may play the game for free. It will stay free, according to the New York Times and the game’s designer, Josh Wardle. Wordle hasn’t become any more difficult since the New York Times purchased it, according to some users.
You get six chances to guess a five-letter word in Wordle’s basic game. The correctness of each of your guesses is shown by the placement of the corresponding letters in the goal word.
A letter glows green when it is in the right location. Yellow indicates that it is in the word, but in the incorrect location. When it’s not in the word, it’s greyed out.
One puzzle is completed each day, and everyone does so. Every day at 7 p.m. Eastern Time, Wordle resets, but if you’re looking for something to do while you wait, we’ve compiled a list of the greatest Wordle alternatives, such as Squabble, which is really stressful (but also very good), and Quordle, which lets you play four Wordles at once. In addition, we like the Star Wars-themed SWordle and the math-based mathler.
