Wordle #248 is here. And the answer is…
Is Wordle your thing? You’re not the only one. Playing this easy yet addicting word game and then sharing their findings with friends through social media is something that millions of people do every day.
However, not everyone has the time or inclination to participate on a daily basis. A 10-minute game could not be enough time for you, or you might be offline for 24 hours or longer. Or maybe you just forgot.
The Wordle Archive is the only method to play past puzzles in the order they originally appeared if you’ve missed a day.
How can you find out today’s Wordle answer if you missed a game and are curious? Don’t be concerned; we’re here to assist. Because we at Tom’s Guide are devoted Wordle junkies, we’ll be adding the right solution to this post on a daily basis.

Game #248 Wordle answer: What is it?
Let the music begin… It’s a THORN..
After the even more widely used OTHER, it’s safe to say that this is another simple word. If you’re not a word nerd like me, you may be surprised to see that today’s Wordle solution shares four letters with yesterday’s.
THORN is the 11,447th most often used word in the English language, according to my new favourite website Word and Phrase Info. The fact that it’s not often used unless you’re a gardener or florist isn’t always an indication of how well-known it is. While I’d think practically everyone will know what it implies,
As a consequence of my 3/6 score, I’d be astonished if there weren’t any x/6 scores today. It’s also not one of the finest Wordle start words, so I wouldn’t anticipate many 1/6 points from this.
There are conspiracy rumours that the New York Times is harming Wordle by making it too easy, so here is a good place to start.
Is it necessary to define THORN? Here we go with a Merriam-Webster definition that isn’t quite accurate:
- a sharp rigid process on a plant
- any of various sharp spinose structures on an animal
- a woody plant bearing sharp impeding processes
- something that causes distress or irritation —often used in the phrase thorn in one’s side
- the runic letter þ used in Old English and Middle English to represent either of the fricatives \th\ or \t͟h\ and in Icelandic to represent \th\
No, I didn’t know that final one myself either. It’s always good to learn something new though, right?

Is there anything more I should know about Wordle that I have overlooked?
Only at the end of the year did Wordle become popular, then become global in January as the globe awoke to its charms. The New York Times purchased Wordle in early February for a seven-figure amount and the game is now part of NYT Games.
Using the NYT Games page here, you may play the game for free. There has been no change in pricing, according to the New York Times and the game’s designer, Josh Wardle. Wordle hasn’t become any more difficult since the New York Times purchased it, according to some users.
You get six chances to guess a five-letter word in Wordle’s basic game. The correctness of each of your guesses is shown by the placement of the corresponding letters in the goal word.
A letter glows green when it is in the right location. It becomes yellow if it’s in the word but in the incorrect position. It becomes grey if it’s not in the term at all.
