Take a look at the Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro’s likely design and spec improvements here

Alleged renderings and specifications of the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro have leaked, giving us what may be our first thorough look at Google’s future flagship.

Based on CAD files, both sets were created by Steve “OnLeaks” Hemmerstoffer and made available via two distinct channels. However, we’ve put both here so we can have a good look at what the successors of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro could look like.

Even while the Pixel 7 and Pixel 6 are quite similar at first sight, there are some significant differences between the two.

Google Pixel 7

We’ll start with the Pixel 7 leak from Carhp. Based on these images, the phone’s appearance will be quite similar to that of the Pixel 6, right down to the big camera bar on the back. On the plus side, the bar now flows into the side rail, creating a sophisticated, seamless design similar to what we’ve seen on the Galaxy S22 and OnePlus 10 Pro. The other is that there’s now an oval depression around the two cameras.

The hue of the phone in these renderings appears like a small variant on the Cloudy White option offered for the Pixel 6 Pro. There will also supposedly be black, coral and blue hues to chose from.

Let us now turn our attention to the technical specifications. According to OnLeaks, the Pixel will have a display measuring between 6.2 and 6.4 inches, but he is unable to determine the exact size based on the data he has. There have been previous leaks concerning the Pixel 7, and these measurements suggest that the Pixel 7 will be somewhat smaller than the Pixel 6.

For cameras, the Pixel 7 supposedly boasts an 8MP front snapper, and a main/ultrawide pair on the back. One of the rear cameras has a 50MP sensor, which presumably belongs to the primary camera, while the other sensor has an unknown resolution.

The phone’s internals are said to have a second-generation Tensor processor (which has been discussed in previous leaks) and 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of storage space. The 512GB capacity wasn’t available on the Pixel 6, so Google’s probably been looking at the larger capacities given by the likes of the iPhone 13 series.

The battery’s capacity is only mentioned as being below 5,000 mAh in the leak. According to these measures, the battery capacity of the Pixel 7 is expected to be lower than the 4,614 mAh of the Pixel 6.

Google Pixel 7 Pro

In comparison to the Pixel 6 Pro leak, Smartprix’s Pixel 7 Pro leak is significantly more restricted, but the renderings show that it will resemble the current Pixel 6 Pro model.

OnLeaks believes the Pixel 7 Pro sports a 6.7 to 6.8-inch display. The Pixel 6 Pro features a 6.7-inch screen but considering that the speculated measurements of 6.4 x 3.0 x 0.3 inches (163 × 76.6 × 8.7mm) indicate to the next phone being shorter and thinner, it’s plausible that the display will keep the same size rather than increasing.

Just like with the Pixel 6 Pro, the Pixel 7 Pro is expected to sport a triple-camera setup on the back, as well as a single front-facing camera for selfies. A 50MP primary camera with 12MP ultrawide, 48MP 4x telephoto, and 11MP selfie cameras wouldn’t be unusual, but we don’t know what the sensor resolutions will be. That said, Google may decide it wants to improve one or more of these sensors to keep up with the great photography powers of the iPhone 13 Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.

There’s still almost half a year to go until the estimated October release timeframe for the Pixel 7 series. However, if Google follows the same strategy it used for the Pixel 6 launch, we might see a teaser campaign as early as August.
