There’s a good chance that the popularity of selfies is about to soar.
Rumors about possible enhancements to the Samsung Galaxy S23 have already begun to circulate many months before the phone’s official release. There’s also a rumor about an enhanced selfie camera with a 12MP resolution, among other things.
The Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S23 Plus are expected to include an improved sensor, according to GalaxyClub(opens in a new tab). Since both models haven’t seen a resolution boost since the Galaxy S10 series debuted in 2019, an additional 2MP would be a significant upgrade.
Cameras aren’t always better because of their higher resolution. Quality photography relies heavily on a variety of factors, including the iPhone 13 Pro Max’s 12MP camera lens.
A new front-facing camera module could allow Samsung to make additional enhancements. Right now, we don’t know much more than that, but we may dream of some of the features that the Galaxy S22’s front camera lacks. Slow-motion video recording and a smaller aperture for enhanced low-light performance are two examples of optical image stabilization.
A 12MP sensor at the absolute least could eliminate the disparity between the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Ultra. A 40MP front camera is already on the Galaxy S22 Ultra, so there’s no reason to doubt that it will be on the S23 Ultra.
Even if an upgrade is possible, there is no guarantee that it will happen. Rumors about a new front-facing camera for the Galaxy S21 have been floating around for a while now. It’s possible that Samsung won’t deliver on its promises again next year, regardless of how long we’ve been waiting for this improvement.
We’ve also heard that Samsung’s 200MP ISOCELL HP1 camera module could make an appearance in the Galaxy S23. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is expected to be the only device to receive this upgrade. In the event that it does occur.
