iPhone 14 battery specs recently rumored

Apple’s iPhone 14 specifications leak reveals which models are getting larger and lower battery sizes.

According to a purported iPhone 14 battery specs leak, the four expected forthcoming models will have some minor enhancements, as well as one shocking reduction.

Two Twitter leakers, DuanRui and ShrimpApplePro, posted a screenshot from Weibo with the claimed battery capacity for the four forthcoming iPhones. It’s possible that we’ll hear different numbers in a future leak because both leakers are skeptical of the estimates.

For the sake of comparison, we’ve included these numbers in a table below with the capacities of the corresponding iPhone 13 variants.

Model Battery capacity (mAh)
iPhone 14 3,279*
iPhone 13 3,240
iPhone 14 Pro 3,200*
iPhone 13 Pro 3,095
iPhone 14 Pro Max 4,323*
iPhone 14 Max 4,325*
iPhone 13 Pro Max 4,352

Please take note that the numbers in the table above marked with an asterisk (*) come directly from the rumor post.

According to these revised capabilities, the iPhone 14 has a 1% increase in capacity over the iPhone 13, a 3% increase over the iPhone 13 Pro, and a 1% drop over the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The iPhone 14 Max is supposed to replace the iPhone 13 small, but their sizes (6.7 inches vs. 5.4 inches) are so vastly different that it’s impossible to make any meaningful comparisons.

Apple’s iPhone 14 has a significantly larger battery than the iPhone 14 Pro, even though they both have a 6.1-inch screen. The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro had the same issue, probably because the Pro model had a larger camera block and an additional telephoto camera.

The iPhone 14 Max is expected to have the most powerful battery, but only by a slight margin over the iPhone 14 Pro Max. However, the iPhone 14 Pro Max’s ProMotion adaptive display refresh rate may still make this phone a better battery life option than any other iPhone 14 model, making it the winner.

Rumors claim that the iPhone 14 Pro Max will have a battery capacity of 4,352 mAh, which is 29 mAh less than the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Even while the reduction in capacity is strange to observe, it shouldn’t be enough to tarnish Apple’s reputation as one of the greatest battery-life performers on our list. An adaptive refresh rate and a more efficient A16 processor (which the non-Pro models may not have) could further enhance the iPhone 14 Pro Max’s endurance, as well as its huge battery capacity.

We may expect the new iPhones to be unveiled in mid-September as they have been for the past few years, so mark your calendars now. Until then, keep an eye on our iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro hubs to stay up to date on the newest speculations.
