a new dystopian series from Netflix is in the works

Netflix has introduced a starry lineup for the sixth season of Black Mirror.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about a new season of the program. Despite the fact that it has been almost three years since the fifth season of Black Mirror launched on Netflix, things are finally moving again.

Deadpool’s Zazie Beetz, I May Destroy You’s Paapa Essiedu, Josh Hartnett, Aaron Paul, Kate Mara, Danny Ramirez, Clara Rugaard, Auden Thornton, and Anjana Vasan are all set to appear in the show’s sixth season, Variety reports.

For the next season, which is expected to have more episodes than the show’s first run of three in 2019, creator Charlie Brooker and Netflix are working toward a more expansive concept. Casting announcements have been made for just three episodes of this season, but more will be made available in the following weeks.

According to an inside source, the upcoming season of the program would be “much more cinematic in scale, with each episode being handled as an own film.” it will be a step up from the previous season.

Charlie Brooker has been mum on the next season thus far. “I don’t know what stomach there would be for tales about society coming apart, so I’m not working away on one of them. I don’t know whether it’ll ever come back,” he said in a 2020 interview with the Radio Times. I’ve started creating screenplays to make myself laugh since I’m interested in reviving my comedic abilities.”

To keep himself occupied, the writer has been working on his latest Netflix original, Cat Burglar(opens in new tab). The show is an interactive, old-school Hanna-Barbera-style animation in which the audience solves questions to aid a guard dog called Peanut in protecting a precious piece of art from a cat thief named Rowdy.

Brooker, on the other hand, has returned to Black Mirror.

What a cast!

Great actors have always been attracted to Brooker’s productions by his co-producer Annabel Jones, and the latest cast seems to be no exception.

In addition to known talents like Mara, Beetz, Paul, and Hartnett, Brooker and Jones have scooped up a number of up-and-comers.

There are a number of actors that have recently been recognized for their work, including Essiedu, Ramirez, Vasan, and Rugaard, all of whom have starred in renowned television series.

A new season and more casting announcements are on the horizon, so we can’t wait to see what Brooker has in store. It’s likely that the series won’t premiere until 2023 since production has just just begun.
