Fubo’s base arrangement costs equivalent to its two primary live TV rivals, YouTube TV ($64.99 each month for 80 or more channels) and Hulu with Live TV ($64.99 each month for 70 or more channels). Both of those administrations stream nearby organizations in many regions, as does Fubo.
Other real time features are less expensive, however their costs are additionally going up. Take for instance Sling (which currently costs $35 each month for new individuals) and Philo TV ($25 for 59 channels), however neither of which such a broad channel arrangement.

FuboTV review: Interface
Fubo’s interface is slick and well-designed. The black, gray and white color palette is more attractive than YouTube’s stark, utilitarian look, though not quite as pleasing as Philo’s interface.
stages). On the web, those tabs are Home, Sports, Shows, Movies, Guide and Recordings. On versatile, the Shows and Movies areas are consolidated into Entertainment, while Recordings is named My Fubo.
The Home tab is separated into segments, as Live TV, 4K on Demand, Live Sports, Popular Shows and Popular Movies. The Sports tab shows every one of the games that are broadcasting that day or on future days. The Shows and Movies tab features well known titles and content on request.
The Guide tab includes the ordinary link like matrix with an upward rundown of organizations and flat occasions. The organizations are not arranged, so you might have to chase after your favored channels. However, you can likewise most loved channels, so they experience all the time at the highest point of the Guide.
The Recordings tab houses every one of the shows and motion pictures you have recorded just as a marker for the amount Cloud DVR stockpiling you’ve utilized.
The search functionality on FuboTV is very fast, with results populating as you type, but it isn’t as comprehensive as YouTube TV (which pulls in related video content from regular YouTube) or even Philo (which includes episodes as well as shows in results).
The show profile pages are pretty standard. They show upcoming episodes and allow you to record the series. (You can also choose whether to record all episodes or just new episodes.) The usual controls are available in the playback window.
FuboTV review: Content and channels
Fubo has a massive channel lineup. FuboTV, the most comprehensive of the higher-priced streaming services, includes almost all of the local networks as well as top cable brands. In the summer of 2020, they added Disney-owned channels such as ABC and ESPN while removing Turner-owned channels such as CNN and TNT. Fubo lacks A&E networks as well.

The add-ons include two premium channels and several packages geared toward different interests, primarily niche sports. The service recently added MLB Network + MLB StrikeZone and the NHL Network.
Here’s a look at the add-on packages you can get from Fubo:
- Showtime ($10.99)
- AMC Premiere ($4.99)
- $10.99 for Sports Plus (NFL Red Zone, NBA TV, Tennis Channel, GolTV)
- $11.99 for Fubo Cycling
- $5.99 for International Sports Plus (Zona Futbol, Fox Soccer Plus)
- $4.99 for Adventure Plus (Outdoor Channel, Sportsman Channel, Outside TV)
- $7.99 for Latino Plus
- $7.99 for Rai Italia
- $14.99 for Portuguese Plus
- $4.99 for Entretenimiento Plus
- $5.99 for Fubo Extra (Cooking Channel, Game Show Network, Logo, TeenNick)
Fubo also lacks original programming, something that two of its competitors, YouTube TV and Hulu With Live TV, have. Those services are similarly priced and offer original shows (including award-winning titles like The Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu). Not to say Fubo should get into the originals game — there’s already too much out there — but it does make the high price a little less justifiable.
FuboTV review: DVR
One of the main criticisms levelled at Fubo used to be the limited amount of Cloud DVR storage. However, several of the plans have changed as a result of a recent package overhaul. The Family Plan now includes 250 hours. However, keep in mind that both YouTube TV and Philo offer unlimited storage.
Fubo, like Sling, allows you to delete recordings, but it starts at 50 hours and charges $5 per month for 200 hours.
Fubo’s Recordings tab includes a handy tracker for calculating how much DVR space you’re using.
FuboTV review: Video quality
Depending on the channel and programme, FuboTV can support up to 1080p. The majority of the content I watched was only available in 720p resolution.
Fubo also offers a limited number of 4K events (currently over 130) and only on devices that can stream 4K content, such as the Apple TV 4K, Chromecast Ultra, FireTV Stick 4K, Roku Premiere, and Android phones with HDR10 displays.
There is no 4K content available for recording. None of the other live TV services offer 4K streaming. Philo provides 720p streaming and 1080p on-demand content, whereas the other providers do not.
FuboTV review: Verdict
Fubo is a viable option for cord cutters looking to eliminate their reliance on cable television. And, while it used to be one of the most expensive streaming services on the market, competitors’ prices have now risen to match that $65 monthly family plan. None of the three streamers are perfect; they all lack something, whether it’s specific channels or enough DVR storage. Basketball fans, for example, will be disappointed by the absence of TNT in Fubo.
As this FuboTV review explains, its Family plan provides a plethora of channels and storage, as well as flexibility through add-ons. If you’re looking for a cheaper option, consider Sling or Philo — just keep in mind that you won’t have access to as many networks.
