For iCloud Keychain passwords, Apple has long provided security advice for weak, hacked, or repetitive passwords that need to be updated for optimal safety, but in certain cases, you may have passwords you can’t change and unpleasant notifications you can’t get rid of.
This will change in iOS 15.4, which is presently in beta testing. Any security advice included in the Passwords section of the Settings app can be hidden in the iOS 15.4 update. Simply enter an alert and then press the new “x” button next to any security recommendation you want to conceal. Previously, the only option to disregard or hide security suggestions was to turn them off totally. Hidden security alerts will no longer appear under the main “Security Recommendations” label, but you can still examine them if needed by accessing the Passwords interface and scrolling down to the bottom, where there’s a new “Hidden Security Recommendations” option.
This section contains any password alerts that have been concealed from view. The ability to conceal security advice might be useful for passwords that you are unable to change for any reason, such as when the password belongs to someone else. It allows you to keep the alerts displayed in an area but not in the centre. There is also the option to reset security recommendations and make them visible again.
You may also add a note to any iCloud Keychain password in iOS 15.4, so you can offer yourself with extra information on a password, such as stating what it’s for.
