iPhone Tap to Pay will be available to businesses utilising Adyen’s banking infrastructure later in 2022, including retail supplier NewStore.
Adyen, a financial services company, has announced that it would use Apple’s Tap to Pay on iPhone and Stripe’s limited beta test. Using the Adyen platform, businesses will be able to offer their consumers the convenience of tap-to-pay.
To make and accept contactless payments, tap to pay lets you utilise your iPhone as a payment device. It’s handy for customers, and it makes payments easier for companies that no longer need a separate Point of Sale system.
It is important for clients to have a mobile payment solution that is simple to use with a low cost of entry, according to Adyen CEO Kamran Zaki in a press release. Customers will benefit from this product since many firms are now providing their personnel with iPhones in order to better service their customers.
If you’re interested in enhancing your in-person shopping experience, Zaki says, “Tap To Pay on iPhone is a terrific answer.” With Tap to Pay for iPhone, we’re delighted to join with Apple to bring another another convenient and secure payment method to iPhone users.”
Adyen is also working with companies like Lightspeed Commerce and NewStore to bring Tap to Pay to other systems, in addition to working with Apple. Tap to Pay will be able to reach a larger audience as a result of their efforts.
Jona Georgiou, GM, Payments and Financial Services at Lightspeed: “We are recognised for giving the newest technology to our merchants so they have the most impactful tools to manage their business. Tap to Pay on iPhone is a big gain for our clients in the United States thanks to our partnership with Adyen.”
Stephan Schambach, Founder and CEO of NewStore, said, “Together, [NewStore and Adyen] have already put iPhones in the hands of thousands of retail colleagues.” With this partnership, NewStore and Adyen hope to make payments for their expanding number of shared customers easier, more frictionless, and more safe for everyone involved.
Tap to Pay will be available to US clients later this year, although Adyen has not given a specific date.
