Customers in the United States must now authenticate that they are active students, teachers, or staff members at an educational institution in order to receive education discounts on products.
Customers in the United States could previously purchase things from Apple’s school shop with little verification. Apple’s education stores sell iPad and Mac models at lower prices, making them more accessible to students, teachers, and employees who will utilise them for educational reasons.
Because the store was open to everybody, some consumers may have utilised it even if they weren’t education clients, prompting Apple to impose stricter criteria for its U.S. store.
According to Reddit, Apple in the United States now demands current students, instructors, and staff employees to prove their eligibility for UNiDAYS education discounts. UNiDAYS is a website that offers education clients discounts on items and services in exchange for confirming their enrollment in an educational institution.
Apple had already used a similar method in other nations, such as India and the United Kingdom, with its education shop. At the time of writing, Apple’s Canadian education store was still open, with users able to purchase discounted products without having to prove eligibility via UNiDAYS.
