The French Laundry is a three-Michelin-star French and Californian cuisine restaurant in Yountville, California, in the Napa Valley. It is owned by chef Thomas Keller. The French Laundry will murder your hunger, but it will do it with expertly placed arrows rather than with a colossal stroke of the sword as it did in the past. The lunch moves at a glacial pace, and the quantities are modest yet quite filling.
In total, there are seven courses on the prix fixe menu, plus a dessert. If you’re already starving by the time the napkin lands on your lap, the first three courses will pass you by in a blur of hunger. Take your time, and don’t rush. In each bite, you’ll experience an orchestra of flavours. Make an effort not to let your eyeballs roll back into your skull. Keep in mind that this meal is more about your palate than it is about your stomach.
