Starfield’s chief creator has said that the new sci-fi game would force players to “lose their minds,” which has sparked a lot of excitement.

At some point, “systems actually start to come online,” Emil Pagliarulo, Bethesda’s design director, tells Wired. “And things start to gel, and you see everything shaping into the idea you had when you first began on this insane adventure.” “This occurred to Starfield for the first time, and we were all like, ‘Oh my my.’ Yeah. This is… a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. As soon as we complete it, the players are going to go crazy!'”

That’s the impression we’re getting. We don’t know much about the game yet, but it’s due out in 2022 and might be something like Skyrim in space, with NASA, a Han Solo simulator, and the harsh sci-fi of The Expanse thrown in for good measure..

Starfield seems to have an intriguing storyline based on early gameplay video. Perhaps cheese sandwiches, as well as the exploration of outer space, might play a role in this. Here is what we currently know about Starfield in light of that.

The release date for Starfield.

Starfield will be released on November 11th, 2022, according to Bethesda. There are still 17 months to go until we’re done.

Bethesda will most likely use the ambiguous video to drum up interest in its own IP before revealing more about Starfield. Bethesda has had a history of releasing flawed games, so we’re pleased that the company is taking its time here.

Movie trailer for Starfield

The first full trailer for Starfield was shown at E3 2021. It reveals a possible in-game engine, although the specifics are hazy. Expect a sci-fi world that focuses on dealing with the challenges of space travel rather than the ‘laser swords’ of the Star Wars universe.

In a second video, we get a closer look at Starfield’s development and how it will be Bethesda’s first “new world” in 25 years.

Gameplay in the Starfield universe

Starfield has yet to see any gameplay video or even a teaser, so we don’t know much about what to expect. In light of the fact that it is an in-house Bethesda game, we expect that it will combine space travel with Skyrim and Fallout 4’s open world, choose your own adventure structure.

Todd Howard, the CEO of Bethesda, has set a Summer 2022 debut date for full game footage. There were no big features mentioned in an AMA on Reddit, according to Howard. We wish to present it, which should take place next summer,” remarked the man. Some of the progress we’ve made can be seen in the in-game video. “We’re pleased with the progress we’ve made.”

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which has substantial mod support and is one of the reasons Skyrim is still quite playable today, was mentioned by Howard as a possible inspiration for Starfield.

For gameplay, you’ll be able to fly a variety of spacecraft over the darkness of space and through nebulae and asteroid fields, as well as through a variety of environments. With the goal of landing on planets, moons, space stations, and other astral bodies, as well as exploring their environs.

And all of this might be structured around a central storyline that players may either follow in full or dip in and out of as they explore side quests and other non-core tales.

We believe that players will be able to customise their spaceships as well. Assuming, of course, that Starfield isn’t just a space station like System Shock, Prey, or Alien Isolation, and that there are actual space travel aspects.

The ideal game would be a combination of open-world exploration and choice-heavy plot, with some space simulation tossed in for good measure. Starfield might fill a need left by the lack of space-sim or space-based RPG options now available on the market.

Bethesda shouldn’t be making Starfield an Xbox-exclusive, either – and I’m not sorry about that.

Story of Starfield

Similarly like the rest of Starfield, its story is a little unclear. Exploration of a new area of space seems to be an important component of the game’s storyline, as seen by the most recent teaser.

For Ashley Cheng, Bethesda exec, Starfield is the Han Solo simulator. “Explore the cosmos and have some fun,” says the narrator.

Starfield will be “NASA meets Indiana Jones meets the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen,” according to Bethesda chief Todd Howards, who spoke to The Telegraph.

There is a lot of speculation as to what this signifies, but the current video shows what seems to be a design of some kind for some kind of rings-based portal or teleporter system.

Some speculate that Starfield will have a “NASA-punk” aesthetic, which might indicate that it would take place in a harsh sci-fi world.

“We invented the word ‘NASA-Punk’ to represent a sci-fi cosmos that is a bit more real and approachable early on in this project,” revealed Starfield’s main artist Istvan Pely. “We aimed for a gritty realism. As long as you start with current-day space technology, you can extrapolate into the future and make it seem plausible.”

Leading Starfield animator Rick Vicens remarked, “What’s really fascinating is how strongly we all gripped onto that notion. “The art team knew right away that NASA-Punk was the right direction to go in. For our art direction, it was simply the right word to describe how we wanted everyone to work together and maintain a consistent aesthetic. It all came together for me. The importance of that phrase to us at the outset of the undertaking cannot be overstated.”

To be fair, we can anticipate a tonne of missions, characters, and conversation possibilities from Bethesda games like Starfield, and a tale that changes in response to the player’s actions and choices. We’re hoping Bethesda puts a lot of focus on the main plot and the side quests that go along with it.

The side missions in Skyrim were more entertaining than the main tale. That’s not a terrible thing, but a sci-fi game’s major plot, like that of Star Wars: The Knights of the Old Republic II or Mass Effect, is what we truly desire.

Locations and scenes in the Starfield universe

New and official footage from Bethesda has showed off graphics and gameplay from Starfield, focusing on The Settled Systems scenario.

In terms of distance from our own Solar System, this place is just around 50 light-years distant. However, this interplanetary location has been wrecked by war and remains dangerous.

There is a place that seems like a mix of an urban and a forest, very Star Trek-like.

Nonetheless, a different picture depicts a desolate environment scattered with slender, alien plants and plenty of rocks. Having a pistol on hand is a good idea in this location.

Three figures dressed in spacesuits like those from Star Wars appear in another piece of artwork. Starfield may be home to a wide variety of factions, as seen by the variety of costumes worn by each of the characters.

Previously unreleased trailers have showed off three possible locales for Starfield.

Neon is a “futuristic metropolis” with dazzling lights and futuristic-looking structures. The Xenofresh Corporation developed it on a gigantic fishing platform “on a very plain watery planet.”. The business then discovered a fish with “psychotropic” qualities and produced a medication named “Aurora” in an attempt to turn its fortunes around.

“The United Colonies” are said to be “the most powerful, established military and political force in the game” from New Atlantis, a space port. With soaring automobiles and rising towers, it appears like a sci-fi movie set.

In addition, the Freestar Collective’s capitol, Akila City, is nearby. Individualism and freedom of expression are core values of the Akila community, which is home to a wide range of individuals.

That freedom may be in doubt, though, since the city is ringed by a wall designed to keep out animals called Ashta (a “wolf-and-velociraptor hybrid”). This could be a good place to go if you’re prepared.

Starfield’s latest teaser video and developer Q&A reveal additional artwork and footage from the upcoming game. With it seems to be a fusion of open-world adventure in Skyrim and the hard-science scenario of TV show The Expanse.

Starfield seems to prefer utility above appearance, with spacecraft that look like they might have been developed by NASA instead of glittering spaceships.

There are no holographic displays or smooth surfaces to be seen in the interiors; instead, every available surface seems to be used for storage, with a focus on utility rather than sci-fi glitz.

With Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, we’ve had our fill of classic sci-fi games. If you want something original and exciting, you’ll have to play a sci-fi game that’s grittier and more realistic than the usual fare.

The Xbox X and PC versions of Starfield are exclusive.

Since Starfield will only be available for Xbox One and Windows PCs, you’ll have to get your hands on one of those devices to get your hands on it.

We’re afraid to report that PlayStation 5 customers have no hope. However, Sony’s new gaming device will have Deathloop, a Bethesda-created exclusive.

Prospects for the future are bright in this rural area.

In the meanwhile, we’re eager to see what Bethesda has to say about Starfield, which is the company’s first foray into a new franchise.

We anticipate it to look fantastic on Xbox Series X since it’s a next-generation game. However, Starfield may be a space-faring sci-fi Skyrim or a space simulation like Elite Dangerous, as well.

Regardless, we’re eager to see what Starfield becomes. Bethesda has a long history of creating and releasing high-quality video games. As a result, it can rely on a wealth of knowledge and expertise, but it also means that people have high expectations of it. Our best bet is to wait and see what Bethesda has to say.
