The notion is a comprehensive bundle that may replace a variety of programmes, including Evernote, Google Docs, OneNote, and others. It is, however, somewhat complicated and may be daunting. If you’re just getting started with Notion, we’ve put up a list of the top 10 Notion tips.
One of the nicest things about Notion, apart from its modular structure, is that it isn’t confined to taking notes or composing papers. In the app, you may manage projects, set tasks, and build any database.
Before you begin, learn some of the Notion keyboard shortcuts and read the suggestions below for a smooth onboarding experience.
1. USE NOTION TEMPLATES
Similar to Google Docs and Microsoft Word, Notion offers a dedicated template gallery to get started. This template gallery consists of the stock tNotion, like Google Docs and Microsoft Word, has a dedicated template collection to help you get started. This template collection showcases Notion’s standard templates as well as those created by Notion’s user community. By copying a template and then tweaking it to your liking, you can get the most out of your Notion experience.

2. CREATE COLUMNS IN NOTION PAGE
You’ve probably seen those attractive Notion pages with columns for better organising on the internet. You can do the same thing with a basic Notion page. Here’s how to do it.
Hover your mouse over a text you’d like to insert into a column. As soon as you move the block to the right, a vertical blue line will emerge, forming a column. Drop the block, and the Notion page will be divided into columns.
You may also add a third column at this point. It’s excellent for people making weekly task organisers or anyone who wants to make the most of their Notion page’s space.
3. CHANGE NOTION FONTS
This is also another customising method that many people use to make their Notion page more appealing. There are just three font styles available by default in Notion. However, you can easily add any text style to your Notion page.You may, however, add any text style to your Notion page with ease.
Type the text you wish to add to a Notion page on the igfonts website. There will be a variety of text styles to pick from on the website. Copy and paste your selected text style onto the Notion page. Naturally, don’t type any critical information into it.
This is primarily for headers. On a single Notion page, you shouldn’t use too many distinct text styles.
4. USE NOTION IN DARK MODE
Dark mode is supported by Notion, and it looks fantastic. Select Appearance from the Settings & Members menu on your Notion dashboard. When you choose Dark, your Notion page will instantly change.
You can also swap between dark and bright modes by pressing Command + Shift + L.
5. USE NOTION WIDGETS
Widgets are not officially supported by Notion. That didn’t stop developers from producing fantastic third-party widgets, though.
A live clock widget, progress bar widget, Spotify widget, weather widget, and more widgets are available. You can quickly improve the general appearance of your Notion page and show off the ideal layout to others on social media by using them.
The Notion widgets are available from Indify and Apption.
6. VIEW PAGE UPDATES
Page updates are useful to view specific information added on a Notion page. Also, helps for team sharing a project as well. You can see the changes made by other team members on a single Notion page.
Click on the Updates menu at the top and reveal the menu for more information.
7. USE SYNCED BLOCKS
Notion recently introduced synced blocks feature to sync content across blocks. This can be useful when you are using the same Notion template across multiple pages. You can make a change from one block, and it will reflect among all the Notion pages.
Go to Turn into > Synced blocks and make changes to Notion pages from a single place.
8. CONNECT NOTION PAGES
This is another another useful tool that will help you navigate Notion more quickly. You may copy a link to a Notion page and paste it onto another page with another keyword.
This lets you to move from one Notion page to the next with only one click. Open the Notion page you wish to connect, then pick Copy link from the three-dot option at the top.
Go to another Notion page and click on a word in which you want to pin the Notion page. Add a link with Command/Ctrl + K keys and paste the link.
9. CONNECT SLACK CHANNEL
Notion is a joy to use with third-party apps. Among them, Slack offers deep integration with Notion. From a Notion page, click on the More menu and select Connect Slack channel.
After successful Slack authentication, you will receive all the Notion page and inside Notion pages updates to the connected Slack channel.
10. MASTER NOTION SHARING
Similar to Google Docs, you can share a Notion page and give others editing permission. Here’s how. After creating a perfect Notion page, you can click on the Share button at the top and enable the toggle.
The notion will expand the menu and allow editing or comment-only permission. You can also enable Search Engine Indexing, but it’s limited to paid plans only. This can be useful for those trying to use Notion as a blog or website.
