According to reports, Samsung might introduce a new foldable device this year that has a scrolling, flexible screen. In January, Samsung unveiled its Flex Sidable idea at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
Later this year, Samsung may unveil a brand-new foldable device. A scrolling display may also be used in a whole new design, and we’re not only talking about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 or Galaxy Z Flip 4.
Iconic tipster Ice Universe claims that Samsung is working on a new folding phone nicknamed “Diamond,” which would join the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 models.
Despite the fact that nothing is known about the gadget, a rumoured “scrolling” screen has been mentioned. At CES this year, Samsung unveiled its Flex Slidable idea, which might be the basis for the new smartphone. During Display Week 2021, it had also shown a rollable smartphone prototype.
Codenames leaked to GalaxyClub may have indicated the existence of a third model. B4, Q4, and N4 are the three codenames for this product.
According to rumours, B4 is the Galaxy Z Flip 4 since Bloom was the codename for its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 3. After the Galaxy Z Fold 3’s Q3 codename, Q4 would be a logical continuation. It’s not clear what N4 may be. Samsung might be working on a third sort of foldable device, according to one idea.
In comparison to the latest Galaxy Z Fold and Flip models, this new foldable is expected to be released on a lesser scale, according to GalaxyClub. This is a reasonable option for a first-generation gadget, especially a foldable one. The first Galaxy Fold’s debut was a fiasco.
It seems that Twitter leaker IceUniverse may have provided some insight into the suspected design of the next foldable. “Diamond,” which they refer to as their third folding phone, is expected to arrive later this year, and it is likely to be a scroll-screen device. Samsung and other companies have supposedly been working on this sort of folding phone for some time, but if it’s as ready for mass production as GalaxyClub and IU claim, we’re blown away. We can only hope it resembles the unauthorised Galaxy Scroll designs created by render artists, which include triple cameras and a S Pen pen for enhanced functionality.
If Samsung follows the same release timetable as in recent years, we should expect the new Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip to arrive in late summer. The introduction of a new foldable phone would be logical, but Samsung may choose to keep it distinct due to the fact that this would be an entirely new phone type.
The iPhone 14 Pro and Google Pixel 7 are both hot rumours, so we’ll keep a watch on this one, too, just in case it comes to fruition.
Despite the fact that Google, TCL, and Vivo are anticipated to join the foldable smartphone market this year, Samsung is unlikely to have a market share of more than 85 percent. The company’s foldable smartphone shipments could see an increase in sales as the Galaxy Z series portfolio improves.
