Hello, Guys welcome back here you will learn How to Set Custom Notifications Sounds for Messaging Apps on iPhone. You’re not alone if you’ve ever been in a public place and heard the characteristic trill of an iPhone ringtone, looked down at your phone, and discovered the call wasn’t for you.
But this does not have to be the case. Apple allows iPhone users to customise notification noises, such as phone calls, text messages, and calendar reminders, so you’ll know when to pick up your phone the next time.

Unlike Android, Apple does not allow you to easily alter notification sounds for different apps on the iPhone. Message-messaging apps, on the other hand, have developed workarounds that allow users to select alternative notification tones for incoming messages. Here’s how to use custom notification sounds on the iPhone’s WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, and Mail apps.
Regardless of iOS version, you may alter the default notification sounds for Apple’s built-in iOS apps in a few simple steps. Let’s start with WhatsApp and work our way up to other apps.
1. SET CUSTOM NOTIFICATIONS FOR WHATSAPP
Custom notification sounds are not available in the iPhone Settings menu. You must make the modification from the iPhone’s WhatsApp app. Here’s what you should do.
Step 1: Open WhatsApp on iPhone.
Step 2: Go to the Settings menu.
Step 3: Select Notifications.
Step 4: On the iPhone, go to Settings > Sounds and alter the default message notification sound. You can also adjust the sound for group notifications from the same option.
WhatsApp goes a step further by allowing you to customise notification sounds for particular contacts. This is how.
Step 1: Open WhatsApp and select a conversation where you want to set a custom sound.
Step 2: Tap on the contact name at the top.
Step 3: Select Wallpaper & Sound.
Step 4: Set a custom tone for the contact from the following menu.
You can use the same technique on WhatsApp groups as well. We’ve seen users create special WhatsApp message sounds for family members so they can pay attention to them first and review other messages later.

2. SET CUSTOM NOTIFICATIONS FOR TELEGRAM
To use custom notification sounds on iPhone, Telegram includes a similar workaround. To utilise them, follow the instructions below.
Step 1: Open the Telegram app and go to Settings.
Step 2: Select Notifications and Sounds.
Step 3: From the Message Notifications menu, select one of three options: Private Chats, Group Chats, or Channels.
In Telegram, you may go to each menu and select a custom sound for each sort of notification.
You can, for example, go to Private Chats and modify the message notification tone. Exceptions can also be set from the same menu.
Step 4: Tap on Add an Exception and change alert tones for the select contacts on Telegram.
This is far superior to digging into each contact menu and customising tones for preferred contacts. Telegram has once again outshined WhatsApp here.
3. SET CUSTOM NOTIFICATIONS FOR FACEBOOK MESSENGER
Facebook Messenger also allows you to customise the notification tone. To make modifications, follow the instructions below.
Step 1: Launch the Messenger app on iPhone.
Step 2: Tap on the profile picture at the top.
Step 3: Go to the Notifications and sounds menu.
Step 4: Select custom notification sound for messages, and you are good to go.
Similarly to WhatsApp, you may customise the notification sound for a specific contact in Messenger for iPhone.
Step 1: Go to Messenger and open a conversation.
Step 2: Tap on the contact name and open the info menu.
Step 3: Scroll down to Notifications & sounds.
Step 4: Select a custom message notification sound for the specific contact.
You may do the same thing with a specific Messenger contact and define distinct notification tones for them.
4. MAIL APP
The iPhone’s default Mail app works flawlessly with Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo. When working with several email addresses, you can configure various email sounds for each one.
Step 1: Open Settings on iPhone.
Step 2: Go to the Mail menu.
Step 3: Select Notifications.
Step 4: Scroll down and select Customize Notifications.
Step 5: You will see all your added email accounts from the following menu.
Step 6: Select an account for which you want to set a custom notification sound.
Step 7: Go to Sounds and select a different sound tone.
From the same customized notifications menu, you can also set a different sound for VIP email IDs.
To change message sound for other normal apps, you can go to Settings and open the Sounds & Haptics menu.
Use different sound tones for Text Tone, New Voicemail, New Mail, Sent Mail, Calendar Alerts, etc.
Please keep in mind that your personalised settings from WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, and Mail remain unaffected.
IPHONE NOTIFICATION
Using different notification sounds for messaging apps lets you know which app is sending you messages without looking at the lock screen. It can further allow you to personalize the iPhone experience.
