Tesla added support for Apple Wallet to its app as part of an upgrade to the Tesla app on the App Store yesterday. Tesla users may add their insurance card to Apple Wallet by opening the app, tapping their personal photo, and then going to Account, Insurance, Manage Tabs, and Documents.

Tesla began offering its own insurance products in California several years ago and began expanding to other states late last year. Tesla insurance is already available in a few states, with the firm stating that it hopes to offer it in the majority of U.S. states by the end of the year as it receives state-by-state clearance.

In places other than California, Tesla offers insurance based on real-time data collecting, with premiums determined by how much you drive and a Safety Score that integrates five distinct elements to determine how safely you drive.
