You may have to wait up to a month or more for a response.
According to sources, those who haven’t purchased a new 14-inch MacBook Pro 2021 or 16-inch MacBook Pro 2021 online would have to wait a long time before they can get their hands on one.
According to Bloomberg writer and Apple tipper Mark Gurman, the number of people waiting to purchase the 2021 MacBook Pro models directly from Apple has increased dramatically, with wait periods now exceeding a month or more. Tom’s Guide has had the same problem, with some of the most customised configurations taking over two months to arrive.
Because these computers have been out for more than six months, this is substantial. Because the M1 Pro and M1 Max CPUs are among of the greatest MacBooks to date, it’s significant that the firm can’t manage to have them on hand consistently.
Of course, this may be a sign of their popularity. Gurman’s (well-informed) perspective, on the other hand, is that China’s COVID-19 lockdowns are to blame for these delays. Although most other Mac products don’t seem to be experiencing comparable delays, the experienced Apple reporter blames China’s zero-tolerance stance for COVID-19 breakouts for the MacBook Pro supply delays.
You can still get a free next-day delivery 13-inch MacBook Pro with M1, but it will take three weeks to receive the fully updated machine at the time this story was written.
It’s not a bad idea to hold off on the buy unless you’re in a serious need. A month or two’s wait for the 16-inch Pro 2021’s additional features is well worth the wait. In addition, we anticipate to see a new 13-inch MacBook Pro 2022 with the long-rumored Apple M2 CPU later this year.
Apple’s MacBook Pro 2021 delays: What’s in store
Here’s a quick overview of how long it will take to get a new MacBook in California as of April 13th, based on extensive research and online buying. It’s hoped that this will give you a sense of which models are behind schedule, and how much:
- 13-inch MacBook Pro: Tomorrow – 3 weeks
- 14-inch MacBook Pro: 5 – 9 weeks
- 16-inch MacBook Pro: 5 – 9 weeks
- MacBook Air: 1 – 3 weeks
The good news is that even if you can’t afford to wait two months for a brand new top-of-the-line MacBook Pro 2021, there’s still a possibility it’ll be available at your local Apple shop.
