WatchOS 8.5’s third beta was made available to developers today, a week after the release of the second beta for testing reasons.
Developers will have to obtain the watchOS 8.5 configuration profile from the Apple Developer Center in order to install the new operating system. It is possible to get watchOS 8.5 by navigating to the Apple Watch app on the iPhone and selecting General > Software update.
New software updates need a watch with at least half of its battery life and a close proximity to an iPhone. Prior to installing watchOS 8.5, you’ll need iOS 15.4 as well.
Among the new emoji characters included in watchOS 8.5 are a melting face, a troll with an upside-down mouth, an egg with a teddy bear on top and a lotus flower.
No significant new features were discovered in watchOS 8.5, but we’ll be sure to update this post if we uncover anything else.
