According to Gurman: Apple to Launch New Macs Next Month

After that, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple would release yet another set of Macs somewhere in May or June. This is all based on a March 8 event that has been speculated to take place.

“Apple is already gearing up for another series of Mac launches around May or June,” Gurman said in his monthly Power On email. While it isn’t certain which new Mac will be introduced next month, Gurman believes it will be a high-end Mac mini and a revamped low-end 13-inch MacBook Pro, both of which have been in the works for this year.

Considering that the MacBook Pro and Mac mini are the two oldest Apple Silicon Macs in the current range, I would expect them to be the first to be updated.

A revised MacBook Air and a 24-inch iMac with the M2 Apple silicon processor are expected to be delivered this year, along with the upgraded 13-inch MacBook Pro and the high-end Mac mini. According to Gurman, a new 27-inch iMac with M1 Pro and M1 Max processor choices is apparently in the pipeline, to replace the existing Intel-based model.

By assuming Apple would unveil new Macs in May or June, Gurman’s schedule aligns with a claim from display expert Ross Young who suggested Apple’s mini-LED iMac Pro might come in the summer, signalling a release around its Worldwide Developers Conference.

At CES, Gurman repeated that the Mac Pro, Apple’s high-end desktop computer, will arrive with two iterations of the M1 Max chip: a 20-core model with 64 GPU cores, and a 40-core one with 128 GPU cores. Using our comprehensive guide, you can learn more about Apple’s Mac Pro plans.
