What are the chances of a new Assassin’s Creed or Final Fantasy 7 game coming out?

Sony PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium customers may be getting their hands on some of these titles later this month after a recent leak.

According to BlackBate (via PushSquare), he has learnt “some of the titles” that will be introduced to PlayStation Plus as part of the mid-month refresh for Extra and Premium users.

There’s also the already-confirmed Stray, the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade and FF7R Episode Intermission, Saints Row IV: Re-Elected, and several Assassin’s Creed games like Black Flag, Unity, Rogue Remastered (including Freedom Cry), and The Ezio Collection (including Freedom Cry Remastered).

These titles will be released on July 19, according to BlackBate, which also happens to be the release date for Stray. Keep in mind that BlackBate has said that these are merely “some” of the games that will be included, indicating that the collection may be much larger.

As far as how trustworthy this leak is, the individual has at least before published accurate material through ResetEra before official announcements. PushSquare noticed that they had previously disclosed information about Death Stranding Director’s Cut(opens in new tab) and the Skull and Bones re-reveal, despite them not being a regular poster (opens in new tab).

Even if Sony confirms a mid-month PlayStation Plus upgrade, we won’t know exactly what games will be included or when it will take place until that confirmation comes through. Ubisoft+ Classics’ inclusion in PlayStation Plus and the publisher’s pledge in May that it will “start with 27 games and increase to 50 by the end of 2022” make sense in the light of the plethora of Ubisoft titles.

In July 2022, PlayStation Plus members will be able to download free games from the PlayStation Store.

What’s the mid-month refresh?

As part of the freshly relaunched PlayStation Plus program, this is all available. Three tiers have been added to PlayStation Plus: Essential; Extra; and Premium. While the Essential tier is very identical to the old PS Plus service in terms of online multiplayer access, PlayStation Store discounts, and monthly PS4 and PS5 titles, Extra and Premium provide more.

According to Sony, PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium/Deluxe members will get a second monthly refresh of games that “will occur in the middle of each month with new PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium/Deluxe titles.” In Sony’s words, “the quantity of games updated each month will be different.”

On July 19, Sony has revealed that Stray will also be accessible to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members.
