As predicted, Samsung’s MWC launch brought us new laptops. New portable PCs from Samsung have been announced with Galaxy Book2 Pro, all having 1080p AMOLED screens, Intel 12th generation CPUs, and S Pen functionality.
Two sizes are available: 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch. The key difference between the two is that, like the previous generation’s Galaxy Book2 360, this one includes a hinge that allows it to fold all the way back into a tablet form. For the first time ever, Samsung opted to stick with the 16:9 aspect ratio for its 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch displays.
A closer look at the Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro 360 is in order. Despite the 15.6-inch model being the heaviest of the quads at a hefty 1.41kg, it’s still very light for a 15-incher considering the weight of the 13.3-inch variant at only 1.04kg.
The two AMOLED screens feature a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, and Samsung claims that they are 400 nits brighter than the previous generation. 500 nits of brightness is possible with HDR content.
Although this pen lacks Bluetooth, it does support the S Pen. Samsung has improved the drawing and writing experience on the Galaxy Book Pro by lowering the latency. Handwriting detection and hyperlink support have both been enhanced in Samsung Notes, and the app can now sync notes from a laptop to a Galaxy smartphone running Android in real time.
Core i7 and i5 CPUs are available in the Galaxy Book2 Pro 360, as well as the latest Intel Iris graphics. LPDDR5 RAM is available in capacities ranging from 8GB to 32GB.
There is a 63Wh battery in the 13.3-inch model, and a 68Wh battery in the 15.6-inch variant. Thunderbolt 4 and USB-C connections, a headphone and microphone connector, a microSD card slot, and an HDMI port are included in both variants. The USB-C port can deliver up to 65W of charging power. The Galaxy Book2 Pro 360, according to Samsung, can run for up to 21 hours on a single charge.
Ports, on the other hand, are a little more unique. Thunderbolt 4 and USB-C ports are on the Galaxy Book2 Pro’s 13.3-inch model, along with a full-sized USB 3.0 port and a headphone/microSD card reader. In addition to a full-sized HDMI port, the 15.6-inch model also has a SIM card slot for 5G connection.
Only two colours are available for the Galaxy Book2 Pro: Silver and Graphite. The i7 CPU, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage will start at $1,050 when it goes on sale in April. Source
