The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro could go on sale in less than two months, if rumors are to be believed. When it comes to new iPhone components, more information is coming to light now that we’re in the final stretch.
According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, according to 9to5Mac(opens in new tab), the bad news is that Apple’s partners are experiencing supply issues. The good news is that the iPhone 14 release date should not be affected by these issues.
When it comes to the upcoming mass production of the iPhone 14, Kuo says that “I’ve learned that recently some iPhone 14 panel and memory suppliers have experienced supply issues, but it should have a limited impact because other suppliers can fill the supply gap.”
For Q3 2022, Kuo says that Samsung will be the “sole supplier” of LPDDR5 RAM. Due to certification scheduling and quality issues, Micron and SK Hynix are expected to begin shipping in Q4 of this year.
In terms of the display, LG Display’s “panel display issues,” which primarily affect the iPhone 14 Max but also the regular iPhone 14, are said to be filling an initial supply gap, Samsung and BOE are said to be filling it. However, according to Kuo, LG Display should be able to fix the problem within a short period of time.
For the iPhone 14 release date, what this means
We previously reported that Apple’s September 13 event will take place on a Tuesday, just a few days after Labor Day, which would put the event on September 13. Pre-orders for the iPhone 14 could begin as early as this Friday, September 16, with the device going on sale on or around September 23.
A few reports have claimed that Apple’s iPhone 14 Max could be delayed, but this new report doesn’t support that, so all four new iPhone models could be released on schedule.
