Google said today that its Google One VPN is now accessible for iPhone and iPad users, one and a half years after stating it will be available for iOS devices.
The service, which will be accessible on Android smartphones and tablets in October 2020, is only available to Google One subscribers with the 2TB Premium plan. Google One Premium costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year and includes VPN capabilities as well as 2TB of storage space and the ability to share advantages with up to five other individuals. According to Google, the VPN capability may be shared with family members so that everyone has VPN security on both Android and iOS devices. Users may utilise the service to watch, download, and browse material using an encrypted connection, providing security on public WiFi networks and cellular connections. VPNs also conceal IP addresses, making it impossible for websites to determine a user’s location for tracking reasons.
Google currently provides its VPN service to iPhone customers via Google Fi, a cellular service available to iPhone and Android users, but people who do not have Google Fi will be able to utilise the Google VPN if wanted. It is perfect for families with a variety of devices or for individuals who own both Android and iPhone gadgets.
The Google One VPN is available in 18 countries, including the US, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Mexico, and others.
