Wordle #246 is here. And the Wordle answer is…
Is Wordle your thing? It turns out that you aren’t the only one who feels that way. It’s a simple but addicting word game that millions of people play every day and then post their findings on social media.
There are some people who can’t play every day. A 10-minute game could not be enough time for you, or you might be offline for 24 hours or longer. Alternatively, you may have just forgotten.
The Wordle Archive is the only method to play past puzzles in the order they originally appeared if you’ve missed a day.
How can you find out today’s Wordle answer if you missed a game and are curious? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. For those of us who are devoted Wordle fans, we’ll be updating this post with the right answer every day.
However, if you don’t want to be spoiled for game #246, don’t read any further. Also, don’t sneak a look ahead of time to give yourself an unfair advantage over your buddies; that’s just plain unethical.
Today’s Wordle answer #246, Sunday, February 20
Drumroll, please… It’s TACIT.
TACIT is technically the 14,110th most often used word in the English language, according to the excellent Word and Phrase Info website. Compared to yesterday’s response of SWELL, which is at 31,831, today’s answer is at 31,832. For a number of reasons, I believe it will confuse more people than yesterday’s solution.
TACIT is not a clear or simple Wordle solution, despite its widespread use. The fact that TACIT both begins and finishes with the same letter makes it a bit trickier to predict.
Only 55 of of Wordle’s potential responses (or slightly over 2 percent) include the middle C, making it a rather unusual start to a sentence.
This has clearly caused a few people some problems, to the extent that ‘Wordle 246 X’ is actually trending on Twitter.
Nobody has ever used today’s word in the history of this planet 😡😡😡Wordle 246 X/6⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜🟨🟨⬜⬜🟨🟩🟨⬜⬜⬜🟩⬜🟨⬜🟩🟩🟩⬜⬜🟩🟩🟩⬜⬜February 20, 2022
In any case, Merriam-definition Webster’s of tacit is as follows:
1. Adjective
- expressed or carried on without words or speech
- implied or indicated (as by an act or by silence) but not actually expressed
Hopefully you all got it in six guesses or fewer.

What else should I know about Wordle?
Despite its October 2021 debut, Wordle didn’t gain widespread acclaim until the end of the year, when it became viral in January. Even The New York Times purchased Wordle for seven figures in early February and the game is now part of NYT Games since it was so popular.
The game may be found here on the NYT Games website and is completely free to play. There has been no change in pricing, according to the New York Times and the game’s designer, Josh Wardle. Wordle hasn’t become any tougher since the NYT took control, despite popular belief.
You get six chances to guess a five-letter word in Wordle’s basic game. The correctness of each of your guesses is shown by the placement of the corresponding letters in the goal word.
It becomes green if a letter is positioned correctly. It becomes yellow if it’s in the right word but in the incorrect position. It becomes grey if it’s not in the term at all.
One puzzle is completed each day, and everyone does so. There is a reset time of 7 p.m. ET each day, but we’ve compiled a list of the greatest Wordle alternatives to keep you entertained. These include Squabble, Quordle and Absurdle, all of which are terrific games. Wordle clone Worldle and math clone Mathler are other favourites of ours.
