It’s now possible to download the SmartDrive MX2+ app for Apple Watch from the App Store.
This week, Permobil revealed that their SmartDrive MX2+ wheelchair power assist system now includes an Apple Watch app.
Available in the Apple App Store, customers may now manage their SmartDrive MX2+ using gesture-activated hand controllers on their wrists. Wheelchair users may also use it to monitor their activities. Permobil writes:
A premium experience is provided to SmartDrive MX2+ App customers by bringing the app to the Apple Watch. When comparing the PushTracker E2 to the SmartDrive, consumers have noted improved screen visibility, enhanced battery efficiency, and improved comfort.
It’s now simpler than ever for SmartDrive customers to reduce the number of pushes they make with the SmartDrive MX2+ app for Apple Watch.
The SmartDrive MX2+ by Permobil is a stand-alone power assist module for manual wheelchair users that reduces pushes by around 80%. If you have an Apple Watch Series 5 or later and a PushTracker watch, you’ll be able to operate your SmartDrive using the new Apple Watch app.
According to the app’s early reviews, it’s a huge advance over Permobil’s own products. “I’ve tried a number of other push trackers, including the E2 tracker. Using this software on the Apple Watch, you have more control over your device “One customer stated that the UI was easy to use, straightforward, and quick to respond. It was “far more responsive to taps” than the watch that came with it, according to another reviewer.
