Wordle game #245 has a new winner!
Let the countdown begin… It’s SWELL.
Considering how widely utilised it is compared to other recent solutions like CAULK, we’d be shocked if it causes too many people any issues.
1. Verb
- WASH, DRENCH
- to drink great drafts of : GUZZLE // swill beer
- to feed (an animal, such as a pig) with swill
- to drink or eat freely, greedily, or to excess
- SWASH
2. Noun
- something suggestive of slop or garbage : REFUSE
- a semiliquid food for animals (such as swine) composed of edible refuse mixed with water or skimmed or sour milk
- GARBAGE
As a Wordle response, SWILL may have been a bit of a surprise to some individuals. Wordle’s finest start words don’t have the double-L, which may have been difficult for some people to detect.
In addition, depending on which letters you find early on, there are other related choices such as SKILL, SPILL, SWELL, SMELL and STILL.
I’m hoping you all got it in under six guesses.

What more do I need to know about Wordle?
Only at the end of the year did Wordle become popular, then become global in January as the globe awakened up to its charms. Indeed, it was so popular that The New York Times purchased Wordle in early February for an undisclosed fee, bringing it under the umbrella of its new NYT Games division.
The game may be found here on the NYT Games website and is completely free to play. The New York Times and the game’s developer, Josh Wardle, have both affirmed that the game would stay free. Wordle hasn’t become any more difficult since the New York Times purchased it, according to some users.
To win Wordle, you must correctly guess a five-letter word in six chances. Each time you make a guess, you’ll be informed the letters you selected and whether or not they’re in the correct location in the final word.
Incorrect letters show red, while correctly placed letters become green. It becomes yellow if it’s in the right word but in the incorrect position. It becomes grey if it isn’t in the term at all.
One puzzle is completed each day, and everyone does so. There is a reset time of 7 p.m. ET each day, but we’ve compiled a list of the greatest Wordle alternatives to keep you entertained. These include Squabble, Quordle and Absurdle, all of which are terrific games. Additionally, we’re fans of Wordle clones Worldle and Mathler.
