With the Pro brand, the new tough wearable is estimated to cost at least $900.
In a recent rumor by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the world’s first tough Apple Watch is expected to be referred to as the Pro. Even if so, it looks that this watch will be priced to match its high-end brand name, as well.
Since the upcoming rugged Apple Watch would have a bigger display than previous versions, Gurman speculates in his weekly Power On email that it may be branded the “Apple Watch Pro.” With $900 and above indicated, this suggests that a higher price may be in the works.
When it comes to Apple Watch’s next high-end model with a little bigger display, new sensors and better materials, I would not be shocked if the price begins at $900 or even $99. Apple’s actual location will be revealed in the next several months.
The watch’s bigger display is expected to be roughly two inches diagonally, and it will likely be made of more durable materials, making it more suitable for use in high-intensity activities like extreme sports.
Aside from being among the most expensive, the iPhone 13 Pro and MacBook Pro both come equipped with a slew of pro-level capabilities that put them in a class of their own. A longer-lasting battery has also been rumored for the upcoming tough Apple Watch. Gurman seems to be indicating that the same rationale may be used to the new rugged Apple Watch by making it more competent in terms of lifespan.
I expect Apple will use the Apple Watch Pro moniker and marketing for the tough Apple Watch, codenamed N199 within the firm, since it will be used by extreme sports enthusiasts and customers who generally purchase Apple’s pro services. Even before introducing the new watches, Apple has been stressing their robustness as a key selling feature.
As Gurman points out, past high-end solutions costing thousands of dollars and failing miserably were Apple Watch Editions. The new Apple Watch Pro isn’t likely to be nearly as lavish, however.
When Apple has a special event later this autumn, it’s probable that the new tough gadget will be unveiled together with the Apple Watch Series 8 and an upgraded Apple Watch SE.
You don’t have the patience to wait that long? Rather than wait for the 2022 models to go on sale, take advantage of this week’s Prime Day bargain on Apple Watches.
