Doesn’t the iPhone 14 Max simply make sense?

The iPhone 12 mini deserves your attention. In theory, it was intended to be the ideal phone – a low-cost alternative to the new iPhone, with high-end technology in a pocketable design.

It was a flop on the market. It seems that the sales of the iPhone 13 mini have not been exceptional, despite the upgrades to the battery and camera (at least in China, where its sales are lagging quite considerably behind its bigger siblings).

So it seems that the iPhone 14’s little variant will be discontinued this year (and that makes sense given the iPhone SE 3 is heavily rumoured to land in early 2022, offering an easy way to get a smaller, cheaper, 5G-imbued iPhone).

Because this leaves a slot for the iPhone 14 Max, which might be Apple’s most popular phone this year, I believe this is wonderful news.

The iPhone 14 Max, not the Pro Max, is what I’m looking for. In the past, I’ve preferred devices like the HTC One Max, Samsung Galaxy Note, and the iPhone Plus and Max lines since they are the biggest phones I can get my hands on. These devices are not phablets.

In my evaluation of the iPhone 13 Pro Max, you can see that it has a superb camera, a lot of power, and a grip that’s just about right. The new iPhone has a larger screen and longer-lasting battery than previous models, making it ideal for viewing videos and surfing the web. In fact, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is expected to be one of the most popular iPhones sold in 2021.

That immense power, however, also comes with great responsibility… oh, no…huge expense. Even while it has a larger frame that adds to its price, it’s also because of its more powerful guts, faster screen refresh rate, and high-end camera that make it the most costly iPhone.

However, if you are a creative person and want to do things like capture 4K HDR video and edit it on the fly, those features are fantastic. Or you’ll be using your smartphone to create high-quality 3D models.

My commuter train is awash with people performing nothing like this level of professionalism. You may find them cheerfully chatting on lighthearted group chats, engrossed in movies or browsing the internet in search of anything to keep you entertained till you go home and fall in front of the TV.

The high-end camera and the speed aren’t necessary for those who don’t require them. As long as we can get by with a larger screen and excellent battery life, the iPhone 5S is our ideal smartphone.

Why? Because it would allow you to go longer between charges, and I believe a “cheaper” iPhone that had the longest battery life ever would sell like crazy.

People love huge phones from major companies, and the fact that our continuing Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra review, which is the most popular post on the site right now, demonstrates this.

It’s possible but unlikely

Last year, I had hoped to see an iPhone 13 Max, but instead Apple released the 13 small. But the speculations about the 14 Max are gathering momentum, and as the average size of smartphones continues to rise, a 6.7-inch ‘regular’ iPhone is a logical next step.

In terms of price, it would fall somewhere between the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Pro – both of which are expected to cost $799 and $999, respectively (if Apple keeps the costs similar to last year). The $899 price point, on the other hand, will entice a different kind of user: those who value screen size more than price when choosing on which phone to purchase with their hard-earned money.

Given that we’re at least seven months away from seeing the iPhone 14 range, the rumour mill is rife with misinformation and inaccurate disclosures, which is why some of the speculated specifications don’t make much sense at this stage.

There’s speculation that all the iPhone 14 models will feature a 120Hz screen, which has a high refresh rate, for example. If that’s the case, that’s wonderful, and it would be an upgrade over the 60Hz screen on the iPhone 13, but it comes at a price. It’s possible that Apple is considering including a 120Hz screen in the iPhone 13 Pro lineup since it’s battery-friendly.

Another speculation is that the iPhone 14 Max will include a three-camera setup, which is amazing, but unnecessary. If Apple developed an iPhone SE with a larger screen and a longer-lasting battery but just one lens, I’m sure it would still sell well.

So when Tim Cook takes the stage on September 16 (or September 23, if that’s the date) to announce the next batch of new Apple devices, we’d like to see two Max models in there rather than just one.

High-Speed 5G

It’s now more critical than ever for Apple to ensure that its products are future-proof, especially in terms of the 5G modems that will be featured in its forthcoming flagships. As 5G networks continue to be deployed throughout the globe, 10 Gigabit speeds will be the next stage.

The only modem that can produce 10 Gbps speeds is Qualcomm’s X65, which was unveiled in 2021. Because of the X65’s hefty build and energy-guzzling design, do you think Apple will release its own 5G modem sooner than expected?

The more megapixels, the better.

Since 2015, the iPhone X has had a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens camera. Now, seven years later, many fans of smartphone photography are expecting that Apple will quadruple that megapixel count to 48 MP with the next iPhone 14 Pro.

A technique known as “pixel-binning” might enhance low-light photography on future iPhone devices by merging four times as many pixels into “super pixels” with four times the amount of data. The nice thing about this method is that the photographs themselves remain at a 12 MP size, meaning that these more detailed shots will not take up too much space in a user’s photo collection..
