“Donda 2,” Kanye West’s second album, will not be available on streaming platforms such as Apple Music or Spotify, but rather on a private platform.

Donda 2 will only be accessible on the Stem Player, a $200 gadget that came with the first “Donda” album pre-installed, Ye said today on Instagram. With the Stem Player, you may “customise any music” with controls for voices and more.

To explain why his album would not be available for streaming, Ye stated that musicians “receive merely 12 percent of the money the business produces” and that it’s “time to liberate music from this oppressive system.” Ye added.

Ye is scaling up manufacture of the Stem Player to satisfy demand after collaborating with Kano Computing on its development. As you said, there are now 67,000 units in stock, with an additional 3,000 being produced daily.

Ye has stated in the past that an album would be exclusive only for its subsequent release on streaming platforms to be available to the general public at large. As recently as 2016, he said that his album “The Life of Pablo” will never be available on Apple Music, only to release it a month later.

On February 22, “Donda 2” will be released, and the Stem Player may be pre-ordered online.
