In November 2020, Apple introduced the first M1 Macs, a new entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro. In addition to the MacBook Air and the M1 Mac mini, all three product lines will be updated at some point.
Design
Reports claim the 13-inch MacBook Pro will remain unchanged, with the same chassis and Touch Bar that has been removed from the more expensive 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. However, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has speculated that Apple would delete the Touch Bar, thus not all speculations have agreed on it.
If you can’t afford a mini-LED display or ProMotion refresh rates, you won’t find them on the redesigned 13-inch MacBook Pro.

This year’s 13-inch MacBook Pro will include an upgraded M2 processor, which will be the most noticeable difference.
M2 Microprocessor Chip
To far, there has been no sign of an M2 after the M1’s release; it’s possible that Apple is working on one. In theory, the M2 will feature the same 8-core CPU as the M1, but it might be constructed on a smaller node, which would result in increased performance and efficiency.
In terms of graphics, it will feature more GPU cores. The original M1 had 7 and 8-core GPU choices; the new M1 is likely to include 9 and 10-core GPU options. The M1 Pro and M1 Max will be replaced by the M2 Pro and M2 Max, which will be less powerful than the M1.
The next 13-inch MacBook Pro and 2022 MacBook Air are likely to employ the M2 processor from Apple.
The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro
We haven’t heard anything about new MacBook Pro models since the release of the 14-inch and 16-inch variants in November 2021. We may expect new CPUs, but not a new design, since the 2021 models featured a new appearance with a mini-LED display.
The future M2 Pro and M2 Max CPUs are anticipated to be used in the next 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models.
