By noting that Apple is “doing everything we can for our colleagues in Ukraine,” Apple CEO Tim Cook has shown his worry about the continuing conflict.
Cook responded to Twitter as the Russian invasion of Ukraine lasted into the evening of Thursday to declare that Apple will provide assistance for local humanitarian operations in Ukraine. “I will join all those advocating for peace,” he said.
There are no Apple stores in Ukraine, although the Cupertino company does deal with authorised resellers. An Apple LLC was also set up in Ukraine’s capital city of Kyiv, according to the Kyiv Post newspaper.
This complicates the position for Apple in Russia, where it just created a business presence.
