Season 4 of Stranger Things is just days away, but Netflix is already counting down the minutes and hours until… something else? The official Stranger Things YouTube account has a new live stream you can watch right now, and we’ve included it below.
An old grandfather clock is featured in the live broadcast, which is labelled “IT’S ALMOST TIME | CREEL CLOCK LIVESTREAM.” A digital clock sits at the top. In the lower right corner, there is a timer.
Until tomorrow (Tuesday, April 12) at 10 a.m. ET/7:00 a.m. PST/3:30 BST, the countdown timer is now ticking away.
It’s also worth noting that the Creel House, a creepy mansion that’s been extensively featured in the show’s promotion, is expected to be in the next season’s centrepiece, as fans of Stranger Things know.
A tweet from Stranger Things’ official Twitter account provides the location, so we know where this is taking place. This is 274 Santa Monica Blvd. in Santa Monica, California.
Smoke billows from the rear of the clock as the water in the stream takes on a bright purple tinge. The clock faces on the front of the clock are sometimes warped and skewed by visual effects.
As we’ve been looking at the clock, we’ve observed that guys in lab coats with logos we can’t make out are scrutinising it.
What is Netflix’s Stranger Things livestream all about, and why is it so interesting?
Stranger Things season 4 premieres on May 27 for volume 1 and July 1 for volume 2; it seems like the clock is ticking until the season’s last teaser. There are a slew of phoney “Stranger Things 4 final trailers” on YouTube, so it’s about time Netflix caught up. It would have been possible to announce the episode names at this point. But we’ve previously learned about them.
Netflix, on the other hand, may be working on something quite different. The countdown might end with further video or tease of the Creel House, which is still mostly unknown.
However, the only way to know for sure what’s going to happen is with a final trailer.
