Ewan McGregor has returned to the Obi-Wan Kenobi series to take on Anakin Skywalker in a repeat of their last encounter.
We now have a release date for our Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney Plus! In addition, the star of the film is already boasting about how much the audience will like it. Ewan McGregor’s Jedi Master and Hayden Christensen, his former student, are returning to the show, which is expected to involve a rematch between the light and dark sides. Maya Erskine (co-creator/star of PEN15) has joined the cast of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
For many years, fans have hoped that Obi-Wan Kenobi will make a comeback on the big screen. Ewan McGregor, the Scottish actor most known for his portrayal of Jedi Master Yoda, is too gifted to pass up the opportunity to reprise the role. For the narrative of Obi-adventures Wan’s while caring for Luke on Tatooine, Disney Plus proved to be the right platform.
This character was able to return to the big screen in a cinematic-quality production in a one-off series. Finally, after a two-year wait, Conor McGregor was convinced that the tale being offered to him was worth his time. Now that production is complete, the series is in the editing phase. Finally, we were able to get a release date.
Author/director Deborah Chow, who directed two episodes of The Mandalorian, has been developing an Obi-Wan Kenobi programme for Disney Plus for years. Despite the fact that McGregor has been engaged from the outset, the announcement of Christensen’s return at Disney’s Investor Day in December was a complete shock. Later, on Disney Plus Day (Nov. 12), we saw an Obi-Wan Kenobi teaser, which piqued our interest even more!
The Star Wars prequel movies depict Christensen as an unknown up-and-coming actor. A horrific struggle with Obi-Wan Kenobi in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith led to his metamorphosis from Anakin Skywalker into Darth Vader.
Christensen stated in a statement that portraying Anakin Skywalker had been a “amazing experience” for him. It’s no secret that Anakin and Obi-Wan aren’t on the best of terms. Having a director of Deborah Chow’s calibre in charge of the project is an exciting prospect. I’m looking forward to reuniting with Ewan. As a former student, “It’s great to be back.”
Hayden Christiansen isn’t simply returning as Anakin Skywalker in the Obi-Wan Kenobi teaser from Disney Plus Day, which included concept art and interviews. To face Obi-Wan, he’ll adopt the Darth Vader armour.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is a series that we plan to watch when we finish re-watching the Star Wars films in sequence.

Confirmed release date for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series
Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Disney Plus series will premiere on May 25, 2022, according to Disney CEO Bob Chapek.
Spring 2021 saw the start of production on the six-episode limited series, which was completed in August of the same year.
The project has been in the works for a long time. At the D23 Expo in 2019, it was initially shown. However, rumours began to surface that the programme was in peril. According to a report in The Hollywood Reporter from January 2020, Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy was dissatisfied with the screenplays and wanted to start over with a fresh writer.

Actors in the Obi-Wan Kenobi film
Ewan McGregor will resume his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in a middle-aged version of the renowned Jedi Master when the programme is released in 2019.
‘I’m not going to give anything more away about the narrative, simply that I believe it will truly delight Star Wars fans,’ McGregor stated in an interview with Forbes. When I completed portraying Obi-Wan in Episode III and Alec Guinness took over the role in Episode IV, I always felt there was a tale to tell. A really beautiful scenario was created by the [Obi-Wan Kenobi series] authors together with Deb and I and everyone else. The general consensus is that it will be well received.”
Anakin Skywalker or Darth Vader will be played by Hayden Christensen once again on Disney Plus, the streaming service said on Dec. 10. Acting as Anakin in the films ATC/ROTS and ROTS, he also had a vocal role in Rise of Skywalker, which was released this year.
Several new Obi-Wan Kenobi cast members were unveiled on March 29, according to the show’s official website. Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse, who played Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru, respectively, in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, are among the newcomers.
Kumail Nanjiani, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Rupert Friend, Moses Ingram, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie are among the additions to the Star Wars franchise.
Maya Erskine, co-creator and actress of Hulu’s adolescent angst comedy PEN15, is another fresh face in the galaxy far, far away. She’ll appear in at least three episodes, although the specifics of her involvement are unknown, according to Deadline.
Calendar for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series
Ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, Obi-Wan Kenobi’s adventures begin.
It’s around nine years before Episode IV: A New Hope and roughly around the time of Solo: A Star Wars Story in the Star Wars universe. Is it possible that Obi-Darth Wan’s Maul, played by Ray Park, will make an appearance? As far as we’re concerned, everything is feasible.
The Kenobi show’s narrative was revealed by McGregor in an interview with Men’s Journal in October 2019.
According to McGregor, “it will be intriguing to depict a character we know in a manner and cope with that the fact that all the Jedi were murdered with the conclusion of Episode III,” his trajectory will be extremely interesting. That’s a big hurdle to jump over.
