Mega Millions’ third-largest payout has been the fourth-largest lottery jackpot in US history.

The jackpot prize for the Mega Millions drawing on Tuesday, July 26 has been boosted to an estimated annuitized $830 million due to an increase in ticket sales. Third-largest jackpot prize in game history and fourth-largest jackpot award in U.S. lotteries. For the drawing on Tuesday, an estimated $487.9 million in cash is up for grabs. The anticipated annuitized jackpot amount for the Friday, July 29 drawing will be $1.025 billion if there is no jackpot winner for tonight’s Mega Millions drawing.

The 29th drawing in the current Mega Millions jackpot run, which began with an estimated annuitized $20 million jackpot for the April 19 drawing, will take place on Tuesday. On Jan. 22, 2021, an out-of-state player scooped a $1.05 billion Mega Millions jackpot, the game’s second-largest jackpot payout, which was estimated at $1.05 billion at the time.

Choosing five numbers from a field of 70 and a Mega Ball number from a second field of 25 numbers is how Mega Millions is played.’ It is necessary for players to match all six numbers selected, as well as the Mega Ball (the jackpot prize), in order to win.
