A four-player fight to determine who can consume the most strawberries will be the focus of Kirby’s newest Switch game. As shown in the teaser for Kirby’s Dream Buffet, Kirby transforms into sweets like a cupcake or chocolate bar to gain new abilities while rolling through food-themed obstacle courses.
Like Super Monkey Ball, Kirby’s Dream Buffet has bananas replaced by strawberries and a plastic ball replaced by… Kirby. Nintendo describes the game’s finale as a “fruity brawl on a floating platform,” and as the participants ingest more strawberries, they grow larger.
Finally, Kirby and his blue, green, and yellow buddies stand on food scales to discover who’s eaten the most throughout the course of the trailer. While Kirby’s other buddies look on in awe (and one in dread) at what Kirby has done, the biggest and most rotund Kirby crushes the scale and takes away the winning ribbon.
Neither a release date nor a price have been announced by Nintendo for the game, which is expected to arrive on the Switch this summer. For up to four players, the game may be played locally or online.
