Huawei has yet to release a phone with a 108 megapixel camera. Although the business emphasised sensor size above resolution, its flagships have the ability to take use of an optical zoom lens. With digital zoom, 108MP sensors have proven excellent choices for mid-range phones.
Huawei’s nova 9 SE, which is expected to include a 108 megapixel camera, has been leaked. The phone is expected to cost between €250 and €280, according to WinFuture. There are a few 108 megapixel phones under €300 in Europe, but competition is usually a good thing.
The 9 SE is a 4G-only phone because Huawei has had difficulty procuring semiconductors, particularly those with 5G connection, so it should not come as a surprise. Snapdragon 665, an 11-nanometer processor announced in early 2019, comes as a surprise.
There is a newer 4G chip on the market, the Snapdragon 680, but we don’t think it would have fit the price.
Although the nova 9 SE is expected to have 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, it also has a microSD card reader for additional storage (which both the nova 9 and nova 9 Pro lack). Google Play services will not be available on this device, which will run Android 11 with EMUI 12.
The 108 megapixel primary camera will be supplemented by an 8 megapixel ultra wide camera and two 2 megapixel assist cameras (macro and depth). Through a hole in the display, a 16 MP front-facing camera will be accessible.
Other nova 9 variants include 50+8+2+2 MP rear cameras and 32 MP front cameras as a point of reference (plus an ultra wide selfie cam on the Pro).
In terms of screen size, Huawei has chosen a 6.78-inch LCD with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,388 pixels (19.9:9 aspect ratio). In the leak, there was no mention of a fast refresh rate or reinforced glass.
The phone will also include a 4,000 mAh battery with quick charging, a fingerprint sensor incorporated into the power button, and support for NFC.
According to a leak, Huawei’s nova 9 SE will be available in Europe “sometime in the near future.”
Although the Honor 50 SE has a 5G-capable processor, we couldn’t help but note the similarities between the two devices (a Dimensity 900).
The microSD card slot is one of the other peculiarities (perhaps more, depending on how accurate the leaked info is). Europeans can’t get their hands on the Honor 50 SE. Source (in German)
