Hello, Guys welcome back today you will learn How to Listen to Apple Music on a Google Home Mini & Nest Audio Speaker. When Apple Music first came out in 2015, it was impossible to listen to it on anything other than an Apple device. Thankfully, Apple has made its streaming service available through third-party devices and speakers throughout the years, including Amazon Echo and Google-owned speakers. This page is about Google devices.
If you have a Google Home mini or a newer Nest-branded Google smart speaker, you can stream Apple Music to it almost flawlessly. All you need is a Google speaker that is set up and linked to your Wi-Fi network, as well as the Google Home app on your iPhone or iPad.
The steps below will walk you through the process of streaming songs from Apple Music to your Google or Nest Audio speaker.
- Open the Google Home app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Sign into your Google account if you haven’t already, and tap the + button in the top-left corner.
- Under “Add services,” tap Music.
- Under “More music services,” tap Apple Music.
- Tap Link Account in the pop-up prompt.
- When the Apple webpage opens, sign into your Apple account, and then tap Allow on the “Access Request” page that appears.
After you’ve completed the above steps, Apple Music will appear in the Music screen’s “Your music services” area, where you may set it as the default option.
Now that you’re set up, simply say “Hey Google, play [song name]” or “Hey Google, play my playlist” to play songs from Apple Music on your Google Home or Nest speaker. When a song is playing, you can control playback by touching the media toggle on the home screen in the Google Home app.
