Over the last several years, battle royale games have grown in popularity, and it looks like Halo Infinite will be joining the fray as well. BTB: Last Spartan Standing was found by @Delta hub(opens in a new tab) while playing Halo Infinite offline.

“Big Team Battle” is a matching playlist with 24 players arranged into two teams of 12. The name of the game type suggests that it will not be merely a Lone Wolves playlist with more participants.

If everyone else is continually regenerating, it’s going to be difficult to be the Last Spartan Standing.

There are just 24 players in a battle, compared to the likes of Fortnite and Call of Duty Warzone, which may each feature up to 150 players in a single game. It’s possible that this is excellent news for Halo Infinite gamers who desire a free-for-all versus other players rather than a specific Battle Royale mode.

Halo Infinite has been plagued by the question of a Battle Royale mode since the game’s inception. With Battle Royale games’ popularity skyrocketing in recent years, it’s no surprise that 343 Industries was determined that the game wouldn’t have a Battle Royale mode.

Even after the game was out, there were still murmurs and conjecture. 343i, on the other hand, appears to be bringing something new to the table in the near future. Lone Wolves, the official name of Halo Infinite’s second season, making it ideal for a lone free-for-all game, even if it doesn’t strictly fall under the category of “Battle Royale.”

Considering that Season 2 of Halo Infinite is set to begin on May 3, we shouldn’t have to wait long for confirmation.
