Google Chrome has rolled out a new feature called Journeys that allows users to retrace their search path if they get lost. In addition, there are several Chrome improvements that will make your life simpler..
Google argues that since individuals are continuously interrupted, Journeys will assist consumers pick up where they left off in their search trip. When someone searches for the tastiest cupcakes and ends up on The Great British Baking Show rabbit hole, they can always go back into their search history and click on Journeys to discover where their mind was directing them. For example
Not only that, but Chrome will recommend that the user “Resume your investigation” if they start entering “Great British…” into the search field, which will then send consumers to their Journeys page.
According to Google, it doesn’t matter whether the search enquiry was done that day or weeks ago. It’s more than just a search history index, according to Google, which says that it would prioritise the sites where users spent the most time and energy.
There are, of course, many who would like to get rid of their search ladders. Users have the option of deleting specific search results or whole search clusters. They have the power to completely disable Journeys.
Currently, users can only store their journeys to their smartphone, not to their Google account. Because of this, users can’t carry on their Journeys from one desktop to another. Journeys is not yet accessible on Chrome for Android or iOS, however this may change in the future depending on input from users. Chrome’s Journeys feature is only accessible in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, and Turkish-language versions of the browser.
Actions for Google Chrome
For those who like to use the address bar to solve problems, Google has added a few new Chrome Actions. Google Chrome may rapidly pull up sites such as’manage settings,’ ‘see your Chrome history,”share this tab,’ or ‘play Chrome Dino’ for example. Customize Chrome, see Chrome history, and control accessibility settings are among the other options.
These new Chrome Actions and more will soon be available on both desktop and mobile platforms.
Android Chrome Widget
A new Chrome gadget for Android was also introduced by Google. Open an incognito tab or do other in-browser actions without ever having to launch Chrome.
It’s possible to make a Chrome extension for the dino game, as well. There is now a new Android widget available.
How to Update Google Chrome
Is there a way to update Chrome?
In order to complete the installation, you must restart Google Chrome while it downloads and prepares the necessary updates. Chrome may be sitting idle, waiting to be updated, while you’re away from your computer for days—or even weeks—because you’ve left it open.
Select “About Google Chrome” from the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner of Chrome on Windows, Mac or Linux. Use the address bar to enter chrome:/settings/help and click Enter.
As soon as you visit the About Google Chrome page, Chrome will automatically look for and download any available updates.
There are three colours possible for the menu icon when Chrome has already downloaded and is waiting for an update to be installed: red, green and blue.
- Green: It’s been two days since an update was made accessible.
- For the last four days, an update has been accessible.
- For the last seven days, an updated version has been accessible.
- The latest version of Google Chrome has begun to roll out.
Click “Relaunch” when the update has been installed, or if it has been waiting for a few days.
Caution: Before closing any open tabs, be sure you’ve saved your work. After relaunching Chrome, it reopens all of the open tabs, but it doesn’t store any of the data in them.
To finish the update, press the Relaunch button.
Close the About Google Chrome tab if you’d prefer not restart Chrome until you’ve finished your job. The update will be installed when Chrome is closed and reopened.
Go to chrome:/settings/help and make sure you’re using the newest version of Chrome when you reopen Chrome once the update has finished installing. Installing the most recent updates will result in Chrome stating “Google Chrome is up to date” on your computer.
