In an effort to make a March delivery date for a new MacBook Pro, Chinese component suppliers are said to have worked through the Lunar New Year vacation, according to a new report.
Apple is said to be preparing a March 8 event to unveil a new entry-level MacBook Pro featuring a “M2” processor. It had previously been assumed that the March 8 event will simply include Apple announcement of a new Mac, the iPhone SE, and the iPad Air 2.
Currently, Digitimes claims the new MacBook Pro will be introduced during Apple’s March presentation.
As stated by Digitimes, “Notebook supply chain participants have kept their manufacturing lines operating over the Lunar New Year break apparently for new MacBook Pro.”
Digitimes does not identify or specify its sources, but it has a good track record when it comes to supply chain intelligence. However, the publication’s judgments on Apple’s plans have a far worse reputation.
The upcoming entry-level MacBook Pro is rumoured to do away with the Touch Bar when it releases. ProMotion display may not be added to the new 14-inch MacBook Pro or the updated 16-inch MacBook Pro.
MacBook Pro at its March event
It’s expected that Apple will release a flood of items in the year 2022. Apple is expected to kick out its fiscal year in March with a low-cost iPhone and a new iPad, but it seems that the corporation may release other items later in the year. Apple is said to be working on a new MacBook Pro that will be cheaper than prior iterations. By Mark Gurman, Bloomberg, an entry-level MacBook Pro is anticipated from Apple this year. According to Gurman’s Powen On email, the new entry-level MacBook Pro will match the high-end MacBook Pro features “by removing the Touch Bar.” ProMotion display and M1 Pro and M1 Max chipsets will be removed from the MacBook Pro to reduce its price.
The Cupertino-based tech company is getting ready to debut the second-generation CPU based on ARM architecture after introducing the M1 chipset under Apple Silicon a couple of years ago with the new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro devices.
There have been rumours that the upcoming MacBook Pro models would be driven by the M2 chipset, and now a fresh article has appeared online detailing the features we can look forward to on the M2-powered MacBook Pro.
Apple M2 chipset-based new entry-level MacBook Pro, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, will not include the ProMotion display seen on the company’s most current 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models.
To set them apart from versions powered by Apple’s M1 and M1 Max microprocessors, the entry-level MacBook Pros will not have ProMotion displays. Storage might also be sacrificed in order to save money.
In comparison, the next MacBook Air powered by the M2 CPU is rumoured to sport a Mini LED display. However, ProMotion and variable 120Hz refresh rates are not supported.
This new M2 chipset will also be used in the MacBook Air, Mac Mini, and a 24-inch iMac, which are all M1-powered machines. These gadgets are expected to be upgraded before the end of the year, even if the exact date has not yet been announced.
This year, Apple is also expected to complete the move from Intel to Apple silicon for its Mac portfolio, with a broad selection of products set to debut.
