Apple’s most recent advertisements for the Apple Watch Series 7 have focused on how the gadget may immediately call for help in an emergency. Another instance of this function saving a life has been recorded in Morrow, Clayton County, Georgia.

According to CB546 News Atlanta, on January 23, 2022, an elderly citizen collapsed outside his home. When his Watch detected the fall and he did not indicate that he was fine, it notified the Clayton County Emergency Communications Center.

“Because the call was initiated by an Apple Watch, the location of the call could only be determined by the watch’s GPS, which showed the nearest address,” said the study.

Jeff Moss, Deputy Chief of the Morrow Fire Department. “When the Morrow Fire Department team arrived on the scene alongside Morrow Police units, they soon realised that the physical address was not where the patient was situated and began a perimeter search.” Also Samsung to Unveil New Flagship Smartphones at February 9 ‘Unpacked’ Event

The man was discovered nearby, apparently semi-conscious, bewildered, and severely cold. The overall period between his Apple Watch requesting assistance and the man being located was 12 minutes.

He was transported to the hospital for treatment before being released. According to emergency personnel, the intense cold plus an unidentified existing medical condition meant that the outcome would have been “undoubtedly” worse if the Apple Watch had not been present.

This January 2022 is merely the most recent of several comparable events, including one in November 2021 in Ottaway, when an 85-year-old man’s life was spared.
