New iOS Features- Apple officially enabled Universal Control in the macOS 12.3 and iPadOS 15.4 betas released a few days ago, but at least three more features, including support for driver’s licences in the Wallet app, are anticipated to be brought to iOS later this year.
We’ve listed new features planned for future iOS versions, as well as a couple that will be expanded, below. Also WWE 2K22 release date, news and other rumors
Driver’s Licenses in Wallet App
Residents of certain U.S. states will be able to connect their driver’s licence or state ID to the Wallet app on the iPhone and Apple Watch beginning in “early 2022,” giving a quick and contactless option to present evidence of identification or age.
Apple revealed last year that Arizona and Georgia will be among the first states to implement the function, with Connecticut, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Oklahoma, and Utah following. Other states, like Colorado, Delaware, Florida, and Louisiana, also have digital ID applications and might collaborate with Apple on Wallet app integration.
Apple stated that chosen TSA security checkpoints would be the first to accept ID cards in the Wallet app, followed by businesses and venues in the future.
Apple has yet to implement the functionality in iOS 15.4’s initial beta.
Square-Like Payments
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple has been working on a new feature that would transform the iPhone into a payments terminal without the use of any external gear, such as the popular Square Reader. When another iPhone or credit card is tapped on the back of the device, the iPhone will be able to receive payments.
Gurman stated that Apple may begin rolling out the payments function with a software update “in the coming months,” implying that it might be an iOS 15 feature, but the feature could also be introduced as part of iOS 16 at WWDC in June.
Apple Music Classical
Apple revealed last year that it had bought the classical music streaming provider Primephonic. As part of the announcement, Apple stated that it will release a dedicated classical music app in 2022 that will combine Primephonic’s greatest qualities with new features and advantages. Apple Music members will be able to download the app “later this year.”
It’s unclear if the Apple Music Classical app will be free for Apple Music members or whether it will cost money.
Feature Expansions
Apple just announced that 3D Apple Maps would be available later this year in the Canadian cities of Montréal, Toronto, and Vancouver.
According to MacRumors, Hyundai’s premium brand Genesis is planned to implement Apple’s digital car key functionality, which allows customers to lock, unlock, and start their automobiles using a pass saved in the Wallet app on the iPhone or Apple Watch. Since its introduction in 2020, the function has been confined to specific BMW models. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Genesis will most likely implement the functionality by the summer.
