The Touch Bar on the MacBook Pro 2022 may survive after all

As far as design changes go, it seems that the predicted MacBook Pro 2022 will not be very different from the current basic model, and it may even keep the Touch Bar, which was dropped from the newest 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models.

Everything we know about the MacBook Pro 2022

If MacRumors is correct, the new 13-inch MacBook Pro is expected to be unveiled next month, according to a source close to Apple’s supply chain. Also, when it debuts, it’s expected to keep the same look as the MacBook Pro 2020 model. No ProMotion display with a notch is expected for the improved and less priced MacBook Pro, unlike the most recent high-end versions of the MacBook Pro.

The reported Apple M2 processor, which is expected to have the same number of CPU cores as its predecessor and up to 10 GPU cores, might be the crucial feature that sets the prospective 13-inch MacBook Pro apart. The chip’s goal is to be more efficient than it is powerful.

Prior to Apple’s formal announcement, MacRumors’ sources correctly predicted that the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models will feature a display notch.

It’s possible that Apple is working on a new 13-inch MacBook Pro, since one of the three unreleased Macs recently uploaded to the Eurasian Economic Database is referred to as a “portable computer.”

That said, it’s not out of the question that we’ll be seeing a new MacBook Pro with a Touch Bar at Apple’s next Spring presentation on March 8th. Like the company’s iPhones, it wouldn’t be out of the question for Apple to differentiate the lower-priced versions from their more costly counterparts.

The Touch Bar, on the other hand, has a mixed reputation, with some users praising it and others finding it difficult to operate. Apple’s return of the function keys, HDMI port, and SD card slot in the most recent MacBook Pro models was positively received by most Apple customers.

Since most consumers have been eagerly waiting for a cheap MacBook Pro, we’d guess that if the above proves to be accurate and Apple does go ahead and maintain the Touch Bar, we’d expect some mixed emotions. Regardless, the Apple Spring event might be only a few weeks away, so we may not have to wait long to find out.
