OnePlus 10R tipped to drop the alert slider and hole punch for selfie camera centered

The OnePlus 10R seems to be one of several smartphones that OnePlus plans to release this year. It’s expected to be finalised in May, according to latest speculation. Although it’s not a direct successor, the moniker places it in the same family as the OnePlus 9R and 9RT. However, a recent rumour claims that the OnePlus 10R will be distinct from the 9R and 9RT in a few areas.

We’ve heard from reliable sources that the OnePlus 10R’s front camera will be housed in a central punch-hole cutout. OnePlus has previously released phones with a notch in the upper left corner of the screen. The OnePlus 10R will be the first device from the company to include a punch-hole display aligned in the middle.

First and foremost, this phone will not include the famous OnePlus alert slider. Previously, all OnePlus devices featured it, however lately more and more non-flagship OnePlus phones are being launched without it. And the 10R, according to reports, will be no exception.

Next, it’s said to have a centred hole-punch for the front-facing camera, while the prior R devices had it on the left side of the screen. Reportedly dubbed “Pickle,” it’s possible that the OnePlus 10R will be a renamed version of the Realme GT Neo3 (but we’ve also heard that the Nord 3 will be just that).

MediaTek Dimensity SoC (9000 or 8100 if it’s really a GT Neo3 in disguise) and 80W fast charging are both likely to be included in the OnePlus 10R when it launches in the second half of 2018.

The phone seems to be shielded by a case in the early render, which might be an indication that the entire design of the phone is being safeguarded. However, the OnePlus 10R’s back camera island looks a lot like the previously introduced Realme GT Neo 3’s camera module. Two tiny lenses are positioned next to each other at the bottom of the module, which holds a large camera sensor that is intended to be the main shooter.
