New features and adjustments have been added to the taskbar and the widgets board in Microsoft’s latest Windows 11 Insider version (22563).

For tablets, the taskbar has been redesigned to take up less screen real estate while still displaying the most important data.

Swiping down from the bottom of the screen brings up the new taskbar. There is a new thinned-out taskbar that displays simply the clock and Wi-Fi/battery status. This reduces down the usual taskbar. The larger taskbar may be accessed by swiping up.

In Windows 11, Microsoft is experimenting with a taskbar that is tablet-optimized.

The widgets board has also been redesigned by Microsoft. Prior to this change, widgets and the news feed appeared as two distinct streams; however, now they appear as a single dynamic feed.

The Emoji 14.0 set includes 37 new emoji, however the 3D emoji that Microsoft previously shown is still missing.
