To commemorate the renowned Kingdom Hearts series’ 20th anniversary, Square Enix gave us a first peek at Kingdom Hearts 4, the next instalment. During the three-minute teaser, Sora was shown in a hyperrealistic and aesthetically spectacular way.
In the absence of an official announcement from Square Enix, it’s safe to assume that Kingdom Hearts 4 will be released on the PlayStation 5, PC, and maybe Xbox Series X|S. However, the team has said that they want to convert to the newer and more powerful Unreal Engine 5, which has just been published. At the 7.48 point, you can see the trailer.
A new game in the Kingdom Hearts series has been confirmed. During a celebration of the series’ 20th anniversary in Japan, Square Enix unveiled the next game. The trailer for it is featured in the video above.
You’ll have to wait until 4:09 in the video to see any footage from Kingdom Hearts IV since it also has footage from the recently-announced mobile game, Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link.
A massive heartless arrives in the city as soon as the trailer begins, and Sora wakes up in an apartment as it approaches. While parkouring and grappling his way towards the opponent, Sora pulls out his Keyblade and swings it about. They are confronted by an unknown menace as they roam about in the dark towards the very end of this video.
Although Square Enix cautions that the clip shows development footage that is “subject to change,” the visual style this time around seems to be more realistic. Kingdom Hearts IV takes set in the city of Quadratum, according to a press release from Square Enix, and introduces us to a new character called Strelitzia.
“Lost Master Arc” is the name of a new plotline that begins with Sora’s victorious return. The Quadratum, a vast metropolis situated in a stunning, realistic setting unlike anything else in the KINGDOM HEARTS series, is first revealed to players during a boss encounter between Sora and a gigantic opponent. The reappearance of Donald and Goofy, two of Sora’s most beloved friends, as well as the debut of Strelitzia, a mysterious new figure that appears before him in this bizarre new location, will delight fans.
The release date for Kingdom Hearts IV has not been announced. “Specific territories” will get a limited beta of Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link in August, according to Square Enix.
